22.01.2022 Yesterday our Middle Unit students completed a tour of local landmarks in Wodonga and Albury for their current Discovery topic. They visited Noreuil Park, the Botanic Gardens, the Bandiana Army Museum, the Hume Weir, Monument Hill, Woodland Grove and then wrapped up the day with a play at the enormous multi section playground at Sumsion Gardens before returning to school. A big thank you to everyone who helped to organise this excursion and special mention to our Middle Unit teachers along with Ron, Mel, Amanda and Sarah for going along. Check out some of the fun in the many photos that were taken.

22.01.2022 Area 17 have been secretly working on a year long project for their EQ Assembly. Their goal was to spread kindness throughout the school by the acts you will see in this video. We had such a great time and feel really fulfilled after this in a year where kindness is so important. Enjoy!

16.01.2022 Congratulations to our Slocombe Stars winners for this week. These students have been recognised for demonstrating our Melrose Values of excellence, motivation, thinking, courage and empathy. We hope that you are proud of your efforts and that you keep striving to be the best version of you!

15.01.2022 Throughout the day at Melrose, we practice Mindfulness through a range of ways. The benefits of regular Mindfulness practice is that it allows us to regulate our emotions, decrease stress and focus our attention so we are ready to learn. It is also an important time for us to notice how we are feeling. Area 17 have been enjoying daily mindful activities to enable us to be ready to learn!

12.01.2022 WOW!! What an amazing effort for our very first Waste FREE Friday event! 340 tickets were in our raffle which equates to A LOT of waste free lunch boxes and heaps of plastic waste out of landfill. What a huge effort! We are so proud of the hard work of our students to make small changes with a big impact and for applying their learning from Discovery into their everyday lives. ... Congratulations to our student winner Declan and to Area 13 for being the class with the most raffle tickets in the draw. A HUGE congratulations to Michael and Lionel who worked hard during remote learning in Term 3 while they were learning about habitats in the Junior Unit Discovery topic ‘Where is my home?’ to orchestrate and plan this whole school event. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

08.01.2022 NAIDOC Week 2020 will be held from 8-15 November under the theme Always Was Always Will Be. The revised November dates for NAIDOC Week 2020 follow its postponement from the original July dates, due to the impacts and uncertainty from the escalating Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. As you know Melrose still celebrated NAIDOC week back in July. In saying this, we would still like to acknowledge this important event. Attached is a flyer that outlines some events that people can get involved in.
