23.01.2022 A few of you have asked about our baby Mo so i thought I'd give you an update- unfortunately the other week Mo's health declined and i sought help from a vet nurse who is experienced with bottle feeding and livestock ,Mo ended up needing tube feeding every 2hrs initially he is now onto bottle feeding but still doesn't take it well which is what we were struggling with but I'm happy to say he is putting on weight. Mo is now 5.5 weeks old but is weighing in at just above newbo...rn's weigh so he is very far behind but he is cheeky and lively he sadly just didn't have the best start in life. We have made the decision to let Mo go and be where he is on acerage and has herd animals. The decision has broken my heart and effected my mental health dramatically as some of you are aware i suffer from depression, anxiety, bpd and ptsd all that combined with heartache and feeling like a failure has meant mentally I've been in hell i still cry daily, for a week i struggled getting out of bed and functioning and was asleep by 7:30pm i didn't want to eat, be around people or even venture out with the dogs i was running off of nothing. Mo is in the best place he possibly could be he has vet care available 24/7 and will have room to run and be around his own species and i 100% believe in always putting the animals wellbeing and quality of life first and formost even when it causes us heartache. As you can see from this post hes growing, he's bright and looking wonderful and i hope he has an amazing life being the bestest goat he can be See more

22.01.2022 As we are well and truly into winter just a reminded in order to keep your dogs fur that little bit longer more care is needed from you at home -daily brushing AND combing - keeping up with your regular appointments -not putting jackets/clothing on long haired dogs the friction from the dog moving quite quickly results in matting IF you feel your dog needs a jumper on make sure to brush and comb the dogs down to the skin daily when the jacket is removed. ... We as groomer are here to help you keep your dogs looking spick and span but we do heavily rely on you as owners to do your part at home in order for us to achive the groom and look your after and of course to keep your dogs comfortable

18.01.2022 DON'T FEED YOUR DOG XMAS HAM A timely reminder to all pet owners - DO NOT give your pet dog or cat any of your Christmas ham. "Christmas ham and ham bones... are a huge no no," the Animal Referral & Emergency Centre said. The fat and salt content of this delicious Christmas treat will wreak havoc on the gastrointestinal system of our beloved fury family members," they said. "Christmas ham isn’t the only culprit that can cause our pets illness over the festive season. "Often our pets will have increased access to chocolate, grapes, nuts and fruit cake, which are all capable of causing serious and sometimes life threatening illness." The poor dog in this picture is Gordie last year he ate an ENTIRE 2.2KG Christmas ham. His owners brought him into the vet for help. Animal Referral & Emergency Centre.

10.01.2022 Who would have thought after a busy day grooming I'd head out to do my grocery shopping and end up not being able to get home due to a fire. Over an hour sitting in the car on the side of port wakefield road not even 2minutes drive from our house before we finally got a police escort home Safe and sound and thankful for the work of the cfs and sapol

08.01.2022 Well thats a wrap from our family to yours Merry Christmas and a Happy and safe New Year. What a years its been I'm so thankful that i was able to continue grooming throughout the pandemic and only had to close for 2 days during the lockdown, i also managed to fit all those cancalled appointments back in within the next few weeks that followed. I want to thank you all for your on going support over this very crazy year, for being on time so the day runs smoothly, for taking t...he new covid protocol in your stride, for being understanding during lockdown your all amazing! and for listening to the comments/advice at pickup in regards to your beloved dogs. This year as with any other when in this industry I've had clients pass away sadly to many this year to name.(it never gets easy)Dogs I've groomed their whole lifes or some just a short time that are here one moment and not the next.I've seen families welcome their next dogs trying to mend a broken heart. I've welcomed golden oldies into the salon after a local groomer retired to start their new grooming journey with me as well as puppies who are just starting out and getting the hang of this whole grooming thing and i feel honored that every single one of you put your trust in me to care for your dogs. I'm going to enjoy the next couple of weeks in the company of my husband and our 4 amazing dogs recharging after this crazy year! Merry Christmas guys see you all back on January 4th 2021 Mel, Sharon, Audrey, Daphne and Souly Xx

03.01.2022 Two dog baits were found at Somerset Reserve in Clearview in the form of chicken pieces with snail bait stuck in them. This is the third time in recent weeks we... have discovered possible baiting in local reserves, adding to a number of others around Adelaide. We advise dog owners to keep an eye on their pets at all times and be aware of what your dog is eating. If you find anything suspicious please report to the City of PAE by calling 8405 6600 so that we can remove it and our Community Safety Team can investigate.

01.01.2022 Hi guys just a friendly reminder to please keep the driveway clear, the cones have been in place for quite some time now but people are still parking at the end of the driveway and either over hanging the road or blocking access to the driveway all together. Please park on the road either behind my car where there will be a vacant spot 90% of the time or in the court being mindful not to block the neighbours driveways either. This is my Mum's home first and foremost and my b...usiness address second , she is often blocked from entering or leaving which is why the cones were first put in place and on several occassions the neighbours have also had their driveways blocked. Please be courteous of the people who live in the street i am lucky enough to run my business here without complains but it is not fair on the residence when they cant leave or enter their homes. Thankyou Mel's Dog Grooming
