24.01.2022 I've been looking for a new reflexology poster, and some are just plain boring ... meanwhile I came across another clever hand drawn one - how creative! All reflex pictures have variation... just like all feet have variation...and just like we as people have variation... We all have our individuality and that's the wonderful thing about life :)... 24.01.2022 10 veggies somewhat suspended in my bolognaise Kids like to play 'guess the veggies' I don't always own up to all of them though ... Because some people think they don't like zucchini, mushroom, and pumpkin Until they sneak in and trick your palate

23.01.2022 Check out this fabulous depiction of how we reflex to all the areas of the body through the feet... A reflexology session is done in sets of sequences, for example we will go along the pathway for stomach-pancreas-liver-gallbladder-sml/lrg intestines to address the digestive system. Reflexology is mostly relaxing for the recipient... though we can feel areas that need more attention and working on those sore or gritty spots with more or less pressure brings circul...ation or sedation to the corresponding areas and relief to the feet. ...That's how you feel that whole-body effect Studies show cumulative benefits of reflexology and I think for the most part it's because when you're that relaxed, the body has the chance to heal and regenerate. The effects are reported to last an average of 5 days, that's impressive. It's my favourite therapy to practice, and also favourite to receive! Have you tried it yet? What benefits have you experienced? Photo credit: Reflexologists International Council

21.01.2022 Can I share my little go-to meal creation, perfect for when you have left-over cold rice to use... It's a kind of paella / fried rice... mostly Mediterranean but I prefer to use basmati rice because it's got a great texture... this dish pleases all four palates in this house, so I'm happy! It can be a breakfast, lunch or dinner. ... Start with frying: * onion * fresh tomatoes * mushroom Then any or all of these options: * fresh (not frozen) green or purple beans * yellow or red capsicum * grated zucchini * leafy greens such as spinach /silverbeet * garlic, oregano... chilli if you like heat You can surely get your fair whack of veggies for the day with this dish. I also use a decent amount of olive oil and butter so that things don't stick - you're getting a decent amount of fat there too. I don't find that it needs added salt, because of the halloumi and the freshness of the ingredients. Once veggies are cooked, add your rice (I love basmati), fry up and top with halloumi and serve with avocado. If halloumi is not your thing, use chicken or egg for added protein. It's about 30mins total prep + cooking and you do have to be present at the pan so that it comes together without sticking or burning. A cast iron pan gives the best results. If you have a go at making it, let me know how you like it!

19.01.2022 Pancakes with lemon and sugar... A childhood favourite of mine I love the Meyer lemons as they're so juicy and not as sour

18.01.2022 Have you tried Indian Head Massage yet? It's the best way to de-stress! Also known as Champissage, as 'Champi' means head in Indian. Anyone who loves having their head touched can benefit from this style of massage .... We use a series of relaxation techniques that incorporate many acupressure points on the head, neck, back, shoulders and face, called 'marma' points.... Benefits of Indian Head Massage are endless really... Here are some that almost anyone can experience: Increases feelings of calm and well-being during, after, and often many days after treatment Less overwhelm, increased clarity Improves ability to deal with life's daily stressors Better quality sleep Stimulates the detoxification processes Reduces aches and pains (if you have them!) And an added bonus - it's very anti-ageing if you have it regularly enough, because we are stimulating circulation to the skin's surface and to the points that increase collagen production. :D For my Kalamunda followers ... I'm up at Hills Massage on Haynes street Tuesdays and Wednesdays for Indian Head Massage and Reflexology. It's so lovely up there! (Photo credit: Butterfly Effect)

12.01.2022 Food is so personal. I know that talking about what you eat and your relationship with food can be like baring your soul. Accepting where you are, what you eat and how you feel now is the first part of the process, and then comes the inertia for change, growth... and wellness can be yours again. We can do this!

10.01.2022 Can't deal with an average salad? Me neither! A salad will only excite me if there's colour, flavour, fats, no too crunchy or chunky, and is super fresh. My nan has put mango in the salad for me since I was little and I still really love it... Have you tried it? ... No packet lettuce in sight (unless it's from the organic Roly Poly farm, they're amazing)... What's your favourite salad?

My favourite place on Earth so far This place - magical healing abilities there, so much healthy food, so much nature, Skin and eyes are clear, energy is up, stress melts away, weather is always warm, costs less than many other popular parts of Bali... food there is so rich in nutrients and flavour. Just can't get that flavour anywhere here (sorry Perth, you ain't got it). ... I go a couple of times a year as my retreat, it's not a 'holiday' it's my hobby, my time out, my self care... Many people go up to Ubud and have no idea of the hidden magic there, if you just go to the market or Monkey Forest you'll miss everything... I have a beautiful friend who offers personalised retreats for anyone who wants a piece of the real Ubud... to get the most of this wonderful place...
