19.01.2022 Following advice from the Victorian Government on Tuesday 12 May, some students will be returning to school from Tuesday 26 May. The Victorian Chief Health Officer has advised that it is safe for students and teachers to return in a two-staged approach: Stage 1 from Tuesday 26 May: Early years students (Prep to Grade 2) and senior secondary students (Year 11 and 12) and all specialist school students will return to on-site schooling. All staff will attend on-site.... Stage 2 from Tuesday 9 June: Grade 3 to Year 10 students will return to on-site schooling, subject to health advice. It is important that we work together and support each other during this challenging time. We will be in touch with staff and parents shortly with more details. Please ensure you keep up to date via the Skoolbag App. Free download. The Department’s latest advice on coronavirus can be found at www.education.vic.gov.au/coronavirus

19.01.2022 Prep - Grade 2 Update Dear Parents and Families The staff at Melton South Primary School are excited to welcome your child/children in Prep to Grade 2 back to onsite learning.... For everyone's health and well being please remember the following: Students who are showing any signs of illness are not to attend school If a child appears unwell the child will be sent home Students medications were sent home at the end of term 1. Please return these medications to school in a named zip lock bag/container In line with Department of Education directives, parents/carers are not permitted onto school grounds Parents/carers must adhere to social distancing when dropping off and picking up their child/children Only enter and exit via designated gates to ensure a smooth transition Sanitizer will be used upon entry and exit of the school and their classrooms Students will be required to wash their hands frequently with antibacterial soap Additional cleaning/sanitising continues to be a priority with cleaners onsite all day Ensure you enter and exit at allocated times If allocated gates are closed after scheduled drop off and pick up times please go to the canteen gate We recommend that changes of clothes are placed in their school bags until they familiarise themselves once again with school routines On the advice of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) schools should not conduct wide-scale temperature checking of students as there is limited evidence to demonstrate the value of such checks however we will temperature check any child who is showing symptoms Please ensure you provide a refillable drink bottle for water only as bubble taps will not be in operation The School office will remain CLOSED until further notice. Please call 9743 2922 for an appointment if required Looking forward to a smooth transition tomorrow. Marilyn, Natalie, Michael and Angie Leadership Team

11.01.2022 Teddy bear BINGO! Children who are out and about can see them and know others are thinking of them. This started in Canberra, people are putting their teddy bears in the front window of their houses or back window of their cars for children to spot them while walking or driving with their family.

10.01.2022 ART NEWS Mandala is a special word meaning ‘magic circle’. All over the world people make lots of different types of mandalas. People make mandalas to relax, to heal and to create peace. Some are drawn, some are painted or printed. ... Some are drawn in sand or made from nature. While appreciating nature, experimenting with patterns, shapes and colour arrangement our week 4 art lesson helped sprinkle a little magic in our community. It was so wonderful to see all the different ways everyone created their mandalas at home. If anyone really enjoyed making these it would be wonderful to make some more where passers-by could see them see and smile. Thank you to all our super supportive families at home and our amazing artists for sharing smiles. We hope you are continuing to enjoy being creative. Keep up the super efforts Love Ms Rozsa and Ms Spencer
