19.01.2022 It’s been a huge fortnight of fish stocking with our Snobs Creek trucks delivering fish far and wide. More than 135,000 trout have been released into 14 water...s to improve your freshwater fishing in the years ahead! These trout are one year old (yearlings) and will be catchable size in 2021. This is where they found new homes: Tullaroop Reservoir 20,000 rainbow trout Lake Purrumbete 10,000 browns Lake Eildon 10,000 browns Lake Glenmaggie 15,000 rainbows Blue Rock Lake 10,000 browns Pykes Creek Reservoir 5,000 browns & 5,000 rainbows Moorabool Reservoir 13,000 browns Lake Hume 20,000 browns Bellfield Reservoir 10,000 browns Mt Emu Creek 3,000 browns Lake Gillear 1,000 browns & 1,500 rainbows Moyne River 2,000 browns Deep Lake 1,000 browns & 1,000 rainbows Lake Bolac 8,000 rainbows The Ballarat Fish Acclimatisation Society also stocked 4,000 browns into Hepburn Lagoon (with more today into Hepburn and Newlyn). 18.01.2022 BLUE-GREEN ALGAE UPDATE LAKE EILDON We are continuing to advise the public to avoid contact with water in Lake Eildon due to high levels of blue-green algae. ... The warning applies to all locations of Lake Eildon this includes the Main Arm near Eildon Township, Goughs Bay, Jamieson, Delatite and Bonnie Doon.It also applies to both shallow and deep parts of the lake. Blue-green algae are very small and are present across the entire lake, even when there is no obvious change to the colour of the water. Blue-green algae scums are visible in some parts of Lake Eildon, however this does not mean the areas that appear clear are safe. Due to high levels of blue-green algae, the warning cannot be removed prior to Christmas. It is also unlikely that algae levels will decline enough in order for the warning to be removed before January 2021. Visitors to Lake Eildon can still sightsee and enjoy other activities that do not involve direct contact with the water. It is recommended that GMW customers seek alternative supplies. If you are not sure if this applies to you, or for further information, phone us on 1800 013 357. More information on current warnings can be found at our website https://fal.cn/3cly8

17.01.2022 We have been working hard at MRSBC Build it and they will come. As the restrictions are easing the club has been busy getting the facilities ready for you al...l to enjoy some much-needed summer time fun. Automatic gates The installation of the new key fob system on the front gates is making progress. This will be a great improvement, giving members quicker access to the club facilities. New club rooms These are looking fantastic and not long from being finished. We can wait to have a beer at the new boat bar. Marquee decking In addition to the marque area we are installing a split-level deck which will provide a shaded area to sit and admire the view of the lake. New BBQ marquee On the top of the boat ramp on the left-hand side you will notice a new BBQ marquee is being constructed. This will provide everyone with additional facilities for you to enjoy with your families and friends. See more

13.01.2022 Hi Members, Just letting you know that Portland S&GFC have advised that due to the current COVID restrictions, and uncertainty whether restrictions will be ease...d by the end of the month, this year’s Portland Convention has been cancelled. While this is disappointing news, I’m sure you’ll all agree that he health and welfare of our members and the wider Victorian community is paramount at this time. Looking forward to hopefully catching up and having a (socially distant) beer at the Glenelg River Convention in March. 08.01.2022 Hi Guys Just a quick note to let you all know that with the current COVID-19 restrictions Melton SFC have advised they are unable to proceed with the Purrumbete... Convention on 15/16 August. If you have a booking at the Lake Purrumbete Holiday Park they have advised they’re happy to hold over your booking until next year. Please contact the Park to discuss your booking. At this stage it remains unclear whether we will be able to re-schedule the Convention to a later date this fishing year. Take care and hopefully we’ll be able to get together at Eildon in October.
