14.01.2022 We are passionate about campaigning for a Hospital for Melton and surrounds so we were delighted to see this update earlier this week. MELTON HOSPITAL UPDATE: Former Victorian Premier Steve Bracks has just launched a report backing the urgent delivery of a new Melton Hospital. Research by economic development body, WoMEDA, has found that the hospital would add $300 million to the region’s economy every year and create 4000 jobs. The report calls for the Victorian Gover...nment to acquire land in the upcoming budget, begin construction by 2022 and have the facility fully operational by 2026. We very much welcome this analysis. To have WoMEDA validate the urgency to develop a Melton hospital and the need for more jobs is especially appreciated right now. The hospital will trigger major investment and jobs growth in justice, health, education, retail, recreation, and more, which is critically important in Melton where 80 per cent of our professional workforce leaves the municipality for work. We're pleased to see the Victorian Government’s business case progressing and we hope the urgency to acquire land for the hospital can be recognised in the upcoming state budget. Thank you for your support this year (and every year) thank you for being patient through all the trading changes, thank you for hanging in on some long waits for new Toyota.
