25.01.2022 Dear Parents and Guardians, The Victorian Government has today announced that the circuit breaker actions that came into effect last week will end at 11.59pm on Wednesday 17 February. This means that students will return to on-site learning at school from Thursday 18 February. From 11.59pm Wednesday 17 February, consistent with advice for the broader community, secondary school students aged 12 or older, must wear a face mask at school, unless an exception applies: ... in all indoor spaces in all outdoor spaces when 1.5m physical distance cannot be maintained. Visitors and parents must also observe this guidance. Thank you for supporting your children and our school staff this week. We look forward to seeing our students back at school with their friends and teachers, with school opening at the standard time of 8.50 am tomorrow. The wellbeing of all our students is our priority and our school staff and teachers are here to support you and your family. Information that might be of assistance to you in talking to your child about COVID-19 is available. If you are concerned about your wellbeing or that of your child, please contact the school so we can talk with you about how we can best assist. Other sources of support include: Parent Line 13 22 89 and Kids Helpline 1800 55 1800. The Department’s COVID-19 helpline is also available on weekdays from 8.30am to 5pm on 1800 338 663. If you know a family who speak a language or languages other than English and you know they would like further information, interpreting services are available by phoning 131 450 first. For families with a child with a disability, the Association for Children with a Disability (ACD) has additional information. And, finally, a reminder that if you, your child, or a family member develops symptoms of COVID-19 you should get tested at a COVID-19 testing facility and stay home. Each family should regularly check the list of public exposure sites in Victoria (where a person with COVID-19 has attended), and if anyone in the family has attended a site at the times listed, follow the instructions given. Please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or contact the school if you have any concerns. Michelle Costa Principal

24.01.2022 Dear Parents and Carers, Due to the change in Government regulations we are now able to hold a "Step Up" session for Prep 2021. These will be conducted in week 10 (December 7th 11th) and will allow for students to attend for an hour with their 2021 teacher and classmates. Parents may drop their child or they may go on a school tour with a member of the Principal Class during the session.... To facilitate this I will need your Friendship Request forms in by Tuesday December 1st so that I can get information out to you by Friday December 4th. It is important that I receive these as once the grades are allocated it is extremely difficult to make changes and in some cases impossible. Children do not need to wear school uniform. The current Transition sessions you have booked in for will still go ahead.
24.01.2022 Please see Lowes clearance sale on old logo flyer. Please note, the old logo will still be able to be worn while we are transitioning to the new logo.
23.01.2022 Technology: - For any families who loaned a device during Lockdown 4.0 please ensure they come back to school TOMORROW. The children will need to use them within the classroom. - Parents can return them to the office or children can take them direct to their classroom - This does not include devices that families were given at the start of the year as part of the Government’s Bridging the Digital Divide Program. If you are unsure, please call the office for clarification

12.01.2022 CANBERRA CAMP CANCELLED FOR 2021 Dear Families and Friends, Today I have communicated with all our children in Years 5/6 that we have cancelled the Canberra camp. I explained to the children our reasons for the cancellation, namely the changing landscape regarding the pandemic. I explained the possibility of further snap lockdowns and what that would mean for us if it was to happen while we were interstate.... The children, although disappointed, were very mature and understanding of the situation and why we were taking these precautions, namely because it was interstate and the issues that crossing borders presents in these uncertain times. On a more positive note I asked children to research possible places we could go to for a camp this year that was within Victoria. In the meantime while children research possibilities I will be looking into Urban Camps which involve staying in the city of Melbourne and share that with our children. Thanking you all in advance for your understanding with this matter and I was very proud of the mature way your children responded to this setback. Please Note: Kangaroobie Camp for our year 3/4 students will continue as planned due to its location - being in Victoria. Warmest Regards, Kathy Cvitkovic

11.01.2022 School Opening - All gates will be open, including the one near the portables, to allow for multiple points of entry and social distancing. Please let you child/re know where you will meet them at the end of the day. Encouraging them to meet you at the Melton Waves Carpark is an excellent way to manage social distancing - MORNING: Gates will be opened at 8.50am, with children expected to move straight to their classrooms, therefore parents should not really need to enter the ...school grounds before school. Please consider saying goodbye to your child at the gate - BREAKFAST CLUB: Will commence from tomorrow, from 8.15am. Children should arrive before 8.30am to enter for breakfast club - AFTERNOON: Gates will open at 3.00pm, to limit the number of parents and carers on-site. Please let your child know which gate you will be waiting for them, only enter if ABSOLUTELY necessary and leave as soon as you meet your child. Please avoid spending time socialising whilst we gently move from Lockdown 4.0 to a new normal - Gates at the front of the school will be open from 8.00am 8.30 am for people coming to Breakfast Club, then reopened at 8.50am, to avoid congestion around the front garden area outside the office. Please do not bring your child to school before 8.50am unless they are attending Breakfast Club, as the idea of social distancing is to not be waiting around See more
10.01.2022 2020 Parent Opinion Survey WE WANT OUR PARENTS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK! Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents think of our school. The Parent Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is conducted amongst all parents. It is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of parents’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, student engagement and experiences of remote and flexible learn...ing. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies. All parents will be invited to participate in this year’s survey. All responses to the survey are anonymous. This year, the Parent Opinion Survey will be conducted from Monday 12th October to Friday 13th November. The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the fieldwork period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in a range of languages other than English. These include: Arabic, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Chin (Hakha), Hindi, Japanese, Somali, Turkish, Punjabi and Greek. Please speak to Mrs Costa if you would like more information.
09.01.2022 MESSAGE FROM LOCAL POLICE It has come to our attention with school returning and continuing to return in the coming weeks, many parents and carers are taking serious risks and driving in an unacceptable manner putting themselves and others in danger. Already this week we have seen numerous near misses involving primary aged children nearly being struck by vehicles as well as a number of collisions. It is imperative that children are dropped off and collected from school in a ...safe and legal manner. Some of the things we are seeing are things including; dropping off and picking up children whilst stationary at a school crossing, parking illegally, performing u-turns in front of oncoming traffic and blocking private driveways. All of this behaviour and more is unacceptable. We are asking all road users to take greater care in and around school zones. If you are dropping off or collecting children please leave yourself adequate time to find a park and safely attend to your children. Over the coming weeks Police will be patrolling these areas and will show a zero tolerance to any offending. Please for the welfare of everyone, take care. I have listed some common offences and their penalties below which police will be targeting;

09.01.2022 Dear Parents Earlier this year we had planned 2 incursions. One was Asia Raya costing $5.10 and the other was Yarn Bark costing $5.30. Many families have paid for one or both of these incursions and instead of giving refunds, we would like to hold the payments over until 2021 at which time we propose to hold both of these activities. Those who paid this year would have their payment transferred to the incursion taking place next year.... We have been advised by Department of Education and Training that we are allowed to do this. If this is not suitable to you please contact the office to complete a refund form. A refund form will be given to all year 6 students who have paid for either or both. For the grade 6 students who paid with CSEF, there is no need to complete a form, the amount will be credited back to their CSEF.

02.01.2022 NEW GOVERNMENT GUIDELINES RE PREP 2021 TRANSITION On-site school visits by children enrolled in 2021 Foundation Year Term 4 2020 This decision enables a small group (of no more than 10 in total) of incoming children, their parents and/or early childhood educators to visit with one Foundation teacher in schools to support the transition of children into Prep in 2021. ... Schools will only be allowed to have one small group visit the school at any one time (i.e. there may not be multiple groups of 10 visiting the school at the same time).
