20.01.2022 This is a photo of our very amazing client Hazel, who turned 100 years in June this year. She is pictured wearing medals earned by herself and her husband in the Second World War and was given the honour of laying the Remembrance Day Wreath at her Retirement Complex Service. Hazel served as a WAAF at the Embarkation Depot in Perth Western Australia while her then-husband-to-be served as a Fighter Pilot in the Royal Australian Air Force. 19.01.2022 Our lovely clients had an unfortunate home invasion last weekend and some precious jewellery was stolen from their bedroom whilst they were sleeping. They are long term clients of Melville Cares and Mr Ibbotson used to be a volunteer driver for us for many years. Peter and support worker Alan (pictured) were so excited to be shown around the facility by wonderful RAAFA volunteer Malcolm during a very special Lancaster bomber tour arranged for Melville Cares client Peter. They were both suitably impressed with the flight simulator and beautifully restored Lancaster. Alan donated items for the RAAFA museum that were gifted from his late father who was involved with the Lancasters during the war.... Robert reported to his Support Worker Chloe that he was feeling unsafe and was worried about falling over. Melville Cares and INDIGO assisted Robert with providing and customising a free CHSP funded personal alarm. Robert has had his alarm for approx. 6 weeks and has told us that it has changed his life and enabled him to feel free, safe and confident. Melville Cares are currently col...laborating with INDIGO (formerly Independent Living Centre) to assist with providing free Personal Alarms for our clients. These alarms are currently funded through the State Government via CHSP to ensure clients stay safe and confident during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
