21.01.2022 NOTICE OF MEETING SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING A Special General Meeting of the Memorial Bowls Club will be held on Saturday December 14, 2019 at the 19th Hole of the Alice Springs Golf Club Cromwell Drive, Desert Springs commencing at 12.30 pm [Following lunch at 12 noon] This meeting is being called by the Committee to give Members the opportunity to discuss the future of the Club and to consider and vote on the following three Motions:... Motion 1: That Members of the Memorial Bowls Club Alice Springs Inc agree that the club be dissolved and wound up by June 30, 2020 Motion 2: That as of January 1, 2020, all bowls at the Alice Springs Golf Club (ASGC) will be run by the ASGC Bowls Club Motion 3: That all current Memorial Bowls Club Memberships expire on December 31st, 2019. Current members wishing to continue bowling and participating in club, state and national competitions will need to join the ASGC Bowls Club from January 1st, 2020. NOTICE OF MEETING ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING The Annual General Meeting of the Memorial Bowls Club Alice Springs Inc will also be held on December 14 following the SGM, commencing at 1.00 pm in the same venue. 21.01.2022 NOTICE OF MEETING FINAL SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING MARCH 28, 2020 A Special General Meeting of the Memorial Bowls Club will be held on Saturday March 28, 2020 on the veranda outside the 19th Hole of the Alice Springs Golf Club, following Saturday morning bowls [12 noon]... This meeting is being called by the Committee to consider and vote on the following Motion: Motion: 'That all assets of the organisation be gifted to the Alice Springs Golf Club' All Members are invited to attend.

19.01.2022 I believe I’m echoing the thoughts of many others in saying - please reopen the golf/bowls club now! Social distancing can be managed! The future survival of the facility is in jeapardy!... It would be a huge loss to Alice Springs if the club were to fall over. Bail out by a broke NT government post virus doesn’t seem an option. My opinion only! Who agrees?

16.01.2022 A Historic Special General Meeting of the Memorial Bowls Club (14/12/19) has voted to wind up the organisation. All memberships will cease as of 31/12/19 with members encouraged to obtain ASGC Bowls Club membership to continue bowling under Bowls NT accreditation. Thus ends the 61 year life of the club 1958-2019 - a club that has contributed strongly to the sporting and social life of Alice Springs. Sincere thanks to all the many many volunteers over the years who contributed to the life of the club!

11.01.2022 The Memo Bowls Club is no more by decision of a Special General Meeting. All Past members are encouraged to register with the ASGC Bowls Club. Order a new shirt at the pro shop. Let’s make a new start. The ASGC would like to know peoples preferences for playing Comp bowls on Sundays or Saturdays. Please send your response to: [email protected]... Bowling has recommenced Thurs mornings from 9am for 9.30 start and also Sat mornings same time - all welcome!
