23.01.2022 That huge 16mm film enhancement and transfer to DVD has been completed. From more than 6,000' of film with some reels mud damaged, water damaged and old inflamable nitrate film that was crumbling as we handled it, we cleaned, processed, transferred and digitally enhanced 5,750' of that film. Family footage of kids playing in the street and back verandah in the early '50s, Melbourne Cups from 1947, 1948, 1952, 1955 and 1956... a Caufield Cup... a Spike Jones short... even som...e footage of Art Linkletter's radio show from the early '50s. Then the family stuff - cruises to Hong Kong, England, Europe, Paris, London and more footage of the kids riding horses on the family farm in the mid to late '50s and on to the '60s. Playing in the streets with no fear. So many wonderful, childhood memories. My customer asked (when I called her to give her an indication of price halfway through the job) "have you found the Mickey Mouse cartoon?" Alas, no Disney footage was included in the laundry basket of film she delivered a few weeks ago. So I rummaged through my own Disney collection and found a Mickey Mouse cartoon to tag onto the back of Disc 1 - "Mr Mouse Takes a Trip". We made extra copies of the transfer for Christmas presents, and I hope she and her siblings enjoy the cartoon when they discover it at the end of the DVD!

08.01.2022 In the lead-up to Christmas we've processed a large amount of the old reel-to-reel audio tapes from a number of different clients! Audio letters between family members, youngsters having fun playing with microphones and sounding puzzled when they hear their own voice back, the typical sing-a-longs and many other memories. Our transfer/enhancement fees are very reasonable so if you find some old reel-to-reel audio tapes in dad or mum's cupboard, bring them in and we'll put them on CD or USB for you.
