10.01.2022 DANCE UPDATE - COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Since our last update, we have continued to monitor and implement the local, state, and federal recommendations to safely run classes during the Coronavirus Outbreak. CLASSES WILL RUN TOMORROW - MONDAY 23rd MARCH...... Due to schools remaining open tomorrow, we are going to operate our classes. The size of our studio allows us to operate within the restrictive guidelines NEW RULE - There is no access to the studio from anyone other than our dancers and 3 staff members. Parents must drop off and collect students at the end of their classes from outside the studio doors WE ARE GOING DAY BY DAY NOW. Schools are expected to close sometime this week, and at that stage, so will we. Please keep updated via email and our social media accounts. A Reminder, Prevention Steps in the Studio: - Handwashing: This is the most important and most effective measure. We have soap and disposable paper towel in our bathroom and we will require all students and staff to wash their hands at the start of each lesson. This will be monitored closely by our studio principal and is now compulsory. - Cleaning: Whilst we sweep floors, vacuum and wipe down each day, We will be increasing the frequency of our cleaning and sanitisation. We will be wiping down sound systems, props and equipment daily. - Discouraging close contact: We will be asking all staff and students to refrain from hugs, hi-fives, holding hands and partner work in dance classes. - Sneezes and Coughs: We are encouraging dancers to cough and sneeze into their arms, not in their hands. - Kitchen/Canteen Program: Our kitchen will be off limits to students and sectioned off. Our Canteen Program will remain functional but all food will be prepared and given directly to the student by our principal (who will prepare everything with gloves and ensure all utensils and surface areas are sanitised to a high standard) - Water: We already have a "Bring Your Own Drink Bottle" policy at our studio. We will ensure our water filter is clean and safe to use. If students forget their bottles, unfortunately, they will have to go without water. No cups can be on loan until further notice. How you can help at home: - Stay home if sick - Bring a Drink Bottle each and every day to dance class - Encourage your child to cough and sneeze into their arm not in their hand - Advise your children of the studio measures above and listen to instructions of staff at all times - Alert us if your child does have COVID-19 and have been to the studio within the last 14 days so we can contact their peers At this time Menai Dance Centre remains OPEN unless or until directed otherwise.
