22.01.2022 Wollondilly MP Jai Rowell is shocked by his party's decision to reject mayor Judith Hannan from becoming a member. Thoughts?
21.01.2022 Enough is enough!!! The residents of Menangle need to stand up and say we will be heard! First it was the very public statement of support for the developer by our Mayor and now it's our state member who is supporting the M9. ... Why do other areas get spared with a tunnel but as a result the M9 gets moved closer to our beautiful, historically significant, unique village? It is time for us all to hold our elected representatives to account. I would urge everyone to contact the East ward Councillors, Councillor Matthew Deeth, Matthew smith and Noel Lowry and demand that; 1. They demand that the Mayor publicly withdraws her support for the developer and the development in Menangle. 2. That they condemn Jai Rowell's endorsement of the M9. 3. They demand a parliamentary enquiry into the destruction of the Cumberland Woodlands which would be affected by the construction of the M9. 4. They demand that the state government assemble a panel of locals directly affected by the M9. These locals should have no political aspirations For too long Menangle has lacked a voice, yes we are a small community and don't equate to many votes but we are special, we are passionate and we can make a difference! https://www.wollondillyadvertiser.com.au//outer-sydney-or/
17.01.2022 Major Announcement - Rail Corridors Today the NSW Government has made a major announcement regarding the released draft corridors for four major future road and... rail infrastructure corridors which will help establish the Western Sydney Parkland City. These four corridors are: The Bells Line of road - Motorway Outer Sydney Orbital M9 Motorway & Freight North /South Rail line Passenger Rail Western Sydney Freight Line Freight line The proposed corridor reserves are alignments of 192 km to be preserved for future road and rail projects. Approximately 1200 properties, 500 dwellings and 400 residential properties across the Greater Sydney Area will be impacted upon. In brief, the future north - south rail corridor will connect Western Sydney Airport with the existing Sydney train network, the Outer Sydney Orbital road and rail freight corridor, a Western Sydney freight connection and a new road connection from the M7 to the Bells Line of Road. The Corridor announcement is part of the first steps in the delivery of the City Deal aiming to create a 30-minute city for Western Sydney, bringing people closer to jobs, education and homes and improve access for freight and logistics vehicles. The corridor strategy has a 20 year horizon and will be delivered over the short, medium and long term. Engagement processes with residents, community groups, and businesses right across these crucial corridors to inform final alignments are occurring from today and will continue over the next 7 week period. Community members are invited to have a say at transport.nsw.gov.au/corridors on the proposed alignment with reservation expected to occur mid-year and this link will also provide information regarding the 4 corridor preservation areas. There is also an online mapping tool that drills down to each individual property and shows the extent of each corridor to be preserved. Following is the link to the online mapping tool https://www.collaborativemap.com/WesternSydneyCorridors
