21.01.2022 All of us are getting older. But I CHOOSE not to get ‘OLD’ - me I always thought it was a little ego-centric to quote yourself. But I just did it... and it actually feels amazing!! ... It hit me today at the gym, none of us have a choice about getting older. That’s just the way Life goes. But what we DO have a choice about is HOW we respond to those increasing years. I think ‘old’ is a state of mind - an attitude and a set of assumptions- NOT a physical state. So I’m CHOOSING to get wiser, fitter, healthier... as I get older. But my plan is to never get 'old'! I’m not ignoring the passing of time. Far from it! I’m taking ACTION to lessen its impact. How about you? What are you doing? Swipe right to see one of my secret weapons! 21.01.2022 #drop5in35 Challenge - Day 35!! I love the message painted on the wall over the exit door at Valley Gym - YOU DID IT! And that’s the message I want to give you. After 35 days on this journey together (cliché, cliché... cooking show... Big Brother... Survivor...) it’s time to leave the island ... Whatever your end result, congratulations for being part of this Challenge. And thank you!! Knowing you were there, knowing I had to turn up every day (well almost every day) and knowing that I was accountable and had to weigh in again on Day 35 - all those things helped and motivated me. So, THANKS!! As it turned out, I didn’t quite reach my goal weight of 81.0kg. But I DID lose 5 in 35, so I’m rapt with that. One final thought - this is just the end of the beginning. I truly believe you can achieve your goals, whatever they are. Don’t undervalue yourself, underestimate your abilities or compare yourself with anyone else. As a beautiful soul in our team, Maria Manail, so wonderfully puts it, Just compete with yesterday you. I’m going to keep on going - I really want to get to 78kg and keep turning my spare tyre into muscle. I know I can do it! So... what’s YOUR next challenge in life? Let’s stay in touch! 16.01.2022 Do you HIIT it hard? Let’s talk HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)! What’s your fave HIIT workout? I’ve been doing 15-20 mins on the X-trainer. ... I break it up into 1 minute cycles: - 35 seconds medium pace - 25 seconds sprint I increase the workload by 20% for the sprints. I love HIIT for: - cardio improvement - weight loss (you keep burning fat long after you finish) - and Testosterone production. Plus it’s super time efficient! Let me know if you’re a HIIT fan. 15.01.2022 I got nominated for this 25 pushups for 25 days Challenge by one of my friends on Instagram. I wasn't sure that I really needed another challenge, after just completing the #drop5in35 Challenge I put together. But the 25x25 is supporting a really good cause and doing 25 pushups a day... how can that ever be a bad thing? Thought I'd try and mix them up a little - one of the great things about pushups - they're versatile so you can target and work to strengthen different muscle... groups. My first 25 were beautiful - perfect form, looked effortless - and then afterwards I realised I hadn't switched the camera on! D'oh!!! Next 25... not quite so smooth! So, what are your favourite type of pushups?

14.01.2022 My Nana’s favourite saying was, Count your blessings! She was 94 years old when she died and she had the most beautiful heart of anyone I’ve ever met. She was born in 1899 and lived through 2 World Wars, the Great Depression and so many difficult and amazing times. It’s Day 22 of this 25x25 Day Challenge and today I want to encourage YOU to join me in counting our blessings.... That can be hard sometimes, when we feel like things aren’t going right for us. But as one of my favourite bands sing: "It's times like these you learn to live again It's times like these you give and give again It's times like these you learn to love again Today my shout out today goes to my Nana - thank you for everything you blessed me with in our time together. I know you’re continuing to put a smile on God’s face with your laugh, your kindness and your naughty sense of humour. And if you’re struggling today or you know someone who is - be thankful for what you can be thankful for - and don’t ever be afraid to reach out to others. 13.01.2022 Ever had one of those moments where the planets align, the lightbulb goes on, your eyes are suddenly opened and the Plan comes together - when you didn’t even know you HAD a plan? Just over 3 years ago my life was transformed by a chance meeting with this beauty. She was on an all-natural wellness journey, powered by essential oils and building her own business. ... I was unhealthy, unhappy, unfulfilled and looking for love, purpose and a better future. That meeting changed my life radically for the better. Kim was kind enough to share her heart, her passion and her mission with me. 13.01.2022 Want to see more gains in your workouts? Try mixing it up a little! Our bodies are amazing - they can adapt to just about anything. And that includes the same workout, served up over and over. Your body adapts and then stops changing and growing. What this means in practice is - if you're doing the same thing all time, very quickly you'll stop seeing gains and improvements, because your body has adapted.... The answer? Mix it up a bit and keep your body guessing! That could be as simple as changing your hand position when you're doing pushups, so you target slightly different muscles. You could put your feet up to put more pressure on your upper chest. Go narrower to give your triceps and shoulders more of a workout... the possibilities are endless! I thought I was all over pushups... until I tried doing diamond pushups! I did 3 and couldn't go on! It was embarrassing - but it was just because they target different muscles. 09.01.2022 It's always good to have a challenge and this 25 day x 25 pushup challenge is no exception. Pushups are such a great exercise - they're versatile and they actually give your whole body a workout - including your core. Couldn't get to the gym today, so just cranked out 4 sets of 25 - which took some doing! Phew!!

08.01.2022 #drop5in35 Challenge - Day 34 The challenge is almost over and I’m a shadow of my former self! We’ve shared this journey together for more than a month, tried to be more conscious of what we do and what we drink and eat...... Learned a little bit more about our bodies - what they need, how they function and how they’re working behind the scenes to keep us healthy and happy... Thought about our thinking - our perceptions, challenges, responses - and how they influence our weight... Got out amongst it and been more active - rediscovering how GOOD it feels to be active and the renewed energy and perspective that brings. Whatever the final result tomorrow, for me this Challenge has been worth doing. I’ve drunk less alcohol, eaten less chocolate, exercised more, put on some muscle, lost some fat and feel a whole lot better about myself. I’m treating this as the reset I needed. What about you? 06.01.2022 How do YOU know when to stop? How do you know when to push through tiredness or take a break? I'm interested to get your opinion! It's Day 19 of the 25 x 25 Day Pushup Challenge. We had a pretty disturbed night last night - between a sleepwalking little girl and possums playing rugby on our verandah upstairs...... I woke up feeling good, but by the time I hit 20 pushups I realised I was running out of steam. I managed to get to 25 though. Today's my 'pushup day', so I've kept cranking out more sets of 15. But should I be taking a rest day? What do you think? What do you do?

04.01.2022 The pushups keep on coming, the movies get crazier and more self-indulgent (watch for the slo-mo hand clap sequence!) but the cause remains SO IMPORTANT on Day 9 of this 25 x 25 Day Push-up Challenge to raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention. One of the connections between men’s mental health and what I do - sell natural products to support men’s health and Testosterone levels - is exactly that - Testosterone. As our modern lifestyle impacts negatively on gu...ys’ T-levels this also can have a MASSIVE effect on their mental health. Testosterone is a crucial hormone for us men - keeping us strong, lean and healthy - physically AND mentally. When hormone-disrupting chemicals in our environment mess up our hormone balance - all hell breaks loose! And it can lead to problems like anxiety and depression. The thing is, it's not a problem that men, or anyone, really talks about. And that definitely makes the problem worse! Most blokes suffer in silence or have NO IDEA that their Testosterone levels could be impacting their mental state as well as their physical health. Anyway, that's one of the reasons I'm doing this 25 day pushup challenge. Everyday I will be completing 25 pushups for the next 25 days to help raise awareness for things such as PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder), anxiety, and depression - all mental health issues that lead people to think that suicide is the best option. 03.01.2022 It’s not often that I hear men talking about love and their kids. But that’s not because we don’t feel it or think about it. So here’s me breaking with tradition and speaking out! The weird thing about love is it’s NOT a finite resource. ... When my daughter Johanna came along I couldn’t believe how MUCH I loved her! So when Ben was on the way I worried... would I be able to love him as much, would I love Jo less as a result? The thing is, my heart expanded, my capacity to love grew and there was plenty of love to go around! Years later and now I have Kim’s two beautiful girls in my life. I was a little worried... How would my two respond? But once again there was no shortage of love. They’re such a blessing and my heart - and my family - has grown. If you’re a man, tell me something about what your kids mean to you. Live dangerously and put it out there, man!

02.01.2022 What we do DAILY makes SUCH a difference! For most of us men, our daily routine involves putting a whole bunch of TOXIC CRAP on our bodies... which means it gets INTO our body. It's time to say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH and switch to all-natural products. What do YOU think? Give me a HELL YEAH if you want to say NO to toxic personal care products and the companies that are selling this stuff.
