22.01.2022 Do you really understand the impact of "gut health" on your overall health? It has been known for centuries and yet, most Doctors never talk about it. A quick google search will list for you a plethora of diseases that are known to be caused by poor gastrointestinal health. They include: . Anxiety... . Depression Obesity Chronic Fatigue Skin Disorders Arthritis Diabetes Your gut health determines the strength of your entire immune system. Also, the largest collection of neurons inside of the body (apart from the brain) are contained in the gastro intestinal tract...and this is why your gut is referred to as "your second brain". Start you day by a swig of cider vinegar or fresh squeezed lemon which i like to add a fresh squeezed orange to as well for taste so as to clean your liver. None of the this BS fresh orange juice in plastic bottles and made from vats full of flavour haha. A healthy gut Flora is achieved by consuming a range of probiotic rich foods like Kombucha, Sauerkraut and a good mix of fermented foods e.g. organic dairy products like Yogurt, aged Cheeses and Kefir. What will throw your gut health out of whack? Antibiotics - known to weaken the immune system when over used. Recent research even suggests that it can take up to 4 years to restore and rebuild the gut biome following a course of antibiotics; Inflammatory Foods - refined carbohydrates, sugars and processed foods; Hydrogenated Fats - heated seed oils like canola and cotton seed cause chaos in the digestive system; Use only coconut and good olive oil Gluten - predominately an intolerance caused from the over consumption of refined grain products; modify everything you intake Chronic Stress - mental and emotional stress impacts the harmony within the gut as does physical stress so know when to work in or work out. i.e. high stress go for a walk on beach with some solid deep breathing or join me in pilates classes. Its key to realise that your digestive system not only exists to process food, but it guides your emotions as well (because of its direct link to the brain). The importance of maintaining a healthy gut cannot be underestimated. Pay attention to your Gut and it will serve you well in all your relationships with yourself and other

05.01.2022 This is the new logo for MENEZES METHOD - "a STEP beyond Pilates" (Registered Trademark) The logo depicts a derivation of a picture of JP using one of his pieces of equipment. The incomplete circle of a blending colour shows that we are not constrained by the rigidity of remaining within a closed circle.Hence also, the upper extended arm breaking out of the circle while the other is maintaining the control within the circle required to achieve our desired results. The step forward exudes progress in a positive direction with confidence, while not being limited by the conformity of the tradition/authentic/original versions of the method.
