23.01.2022 Last night we catered for the Military Brotherhood Military Motorcycle club. With a 3 course meal and restricted to 20 people, they seem to have enjoyed it all. It was great to slowly get back in to things. We hope you will all enjoy your Sunday. (Angie)

22.01.2022 The Meningie RSL Club wishes to thank Andrea Schmidt for donating wreaths to the RSL over many years, as her contribution to our Remembrances, lest we forget. We wish Andrea and Marcus a fulfilling retirement from the rigors of running a business in our town.

18.01.2022 Information wanted, please. We are being offered this Trig Point beacon, dating back to WWll that came off a farm in the district, if we would like to install it in our Memorial Park. My research so far tells me that such beacons were installed for peace-time purposes, but that with new technology they are no longer generally required for surveying as before, and are therefore no longer maintained by the authorities. Presumably therefore the authorities do not mind what happ...ens with them. However, could it be confusing to put it up outdoors, where someone might read it for indicating something that it does not do. How would it look on flat earth, just above lake level, when normally it would be seen on the top of something? I suspect that its dating back to the war is purely coincidental, and that therefore it may be of no more interest to war curators than grandma's copper kettle of the period. Is it old enough to be of interest to the Meningie Museum, where its display purpose amongst museum artifacts would be more obvious? Is it of more interest than its value for scrap metal? (My thanks to the potential donor, who is wishing to tidy his yard up. I hope he has a sense of humour for what I have written!) See more

02.01.2022 Christmas wishes to all our volunteers, members, and interested parties. Thank you for your support in 2020, and for helping us reach this stage of a pandemic without local transmissions. If you celebrate with others, be kind to them. If you celebrate on your own, be kind to yourself. Freedom is a gift that cost some their lives, or their health. We will remember them. https://rlv.zcache.com/celebrate_freedom_military_christmas
