17.01.2022 A local newspaper article posted online :- https://cranbournenews.starcommunity.com.au//spreading-th/

12.01.2022 Our members are well and truly into making wooden toys for the local Salvation Army Toy Fund. Here are a couple of pics of Owen Milne and Garry Cahill with their latest projects (completed six each).

07.01.2022 Dermot Magee, our Vice President/Treasurer is showing off one of the six toy locomotives I (Garry Cahill - seen on the bandsaw) completed at home whilst in isolation.

06.01.2022 Our members this year handed over 315 wooden toys to the Salvation Army Christmas Toy Fund. This was a record number of toys this year. We are now having a well earned rest until the 6th of January.

05.01.2022 Our Shed members are well and truly back into making wooden toys for the Salvation Army Toy Fund and hope to make close to their record of 315 which was made last year. On the Australia Day weekend, we put on a display at Bunnings Cranbourne where George Broad, Garry Cahill, Owen Milner, Peter Kreun and Alan Poole demonstrated their wood-turning skills together with Dermot Magee and Graham Purvis whom spoke to people about what we do at our Shed and in the community. Our dis...play generated a lot of interest from the public and particularly their children whom we gave wooden whistles to (at one stage, it sounded like we were in the Dandenong Ranges with the sounds of bellbirds everywhere :-) ). Several men indicated their willingness to join the Shed and we also obtained a new supplier of timber. All-in-all it was an enjoyable day for our members whom are keen to do another couple of displays throughout 2020. Our next outing at Bunnings will be Saturday 6 June where we will have a sausage sizzle. New Members Welcome Any interested retired men from the Village or the outside community are always welcome to visit the Shed and have a chat/cuppa to see what we do for the community. They do not need any woodwork experience as our members are happy to pass-on their wealth of experience in an enjoyable and friendly atmosphere. Garry Cahill Secretary - 0408 141 734 for membership enquiries.
