25.01.2022 Maitland's much loved Mattress Muster is returning with a new look in 2022, with two events coming up on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 February at Maitland Showg...round. A third date in April/May will be announced soon. To give more residents a chance to be part of the program, each household can drop off two items in total this financial year. A mattress and a base together count as one item, allowing you to dispose of up to two beds from your house this year. This program is open to Maitland residents only, and proof of residence must be supplied to gain entry. The Mattress Muster is made possible through part funding from EPA's Better Waste and Recycling program. The Mattress Muster is one of our most successful circular economy events, giving thousands of mattresses a new life by turning Maitland's unwanted Mattresses into new roof sheeting for houses, carpet underlay and mulch for gardens. Zoe Lee, who owns the harp, along with Glen The Horse Whisperer O’Brien have been working on the restoration for a few months now. They were held up because of the Covid shutdown. The harp is now completed and is back to its former glory.

02.10.2021 Aerobic exercises such as jogging, swimming, cycling, walking, gardening, and dancing - are proven to reduce feelings of anxiety and depression. These improv...ements in mood are believed to be linked to increased blood circulation to the brain and a serotonin boost. Serotonin is a hormone that helps regulate when we sleep and wake, think and maintain our mood. For adults, 30 mins of exercise is recommended a day. For children and young people, 60 minutes. Get moving today to improve your mental health!
