22.01.2022 Did you know there are around 37,000 community services workers in South Australia? Thats 4% of our states workforce- and although they do essential work, they dont often get the recognition they deserve. Thats why South Australian Council of Social Service is launching a new campaign to recognise, promote and build pride in the community sector - #HereForSA

21.01.2022 The community services sector plays a huge role in the South Australian economy - 37,000 workers and 54,209 volunteers across 765 organisations, with a total sector revenue of $2.996bn. That's 2.7% of the state's economy! But the importance of our sector goes way beyond its economic value. The 4% of workers who provide vital services to South Australia don't often get the recognition they deserve. Its time to #SAyThanks to all the community services who are #HereForSA South Australian Council of Social Service

08.01.2022 Today is Wear it Purple day! We at the MHCSA are proud to celebrate diversity and young people from the LGBTIQA+ community by donning as much purple as we can find in our closets. Today is a reminder that everyone's identity is valid, everyone's mental health matters, and a colourful world is much more fun. KAREN Let's celebrate unconditional love and acceptance for all, not just on one day, but all days. We are all worthy!... LOUISE This is my Godson who I still remember as a gorgeous baby. Wearing purple is a reminder to both of us that growing up and finding yourself is not always an easy path to travel, but remember you are not alone. We all have a Fairy Godmother. SHANDY This is me in my purple at the sticks at Port Willunga. My sister Sue married her rock star wife Susie there in 2002 and its now my local beach. Eighteen years on Susie is in her third career as a doctor and Sue is building businesses on KI. I have 2 sisters instead of one I am blessed. Every day is purple for me and I wish it was for everyone. BEL I don't like purple. It is my least favourite colour in the world. I own nothing purple. But I love my LGBTIQA+ friends and I love my son's friends who have and are coming out - and that love outweighs my dislike of this colour. So here I am, Wearing it Purple in a borrowed jersey and taking it for the team in solidarity of all young people who are gender and sexually diverse. ANNA I'd be lost without my queer friends and community. I'll be standing up for acceptance always, and celebrating with great pride along the way... and with dancing Please note Geoff posing with a purple rosemary bush If you are LGBTIQA+, live in SA and need support, check out Uniting Communities's Bfriend: https://bit.ly/3b3LDFc Contact a headspace centre near you: https://bit.ly/2EDLX1f Or call the Lived Experience Telephone Support Service - Adelaide Metro: https://bit.ly/3luknob #WearItPurple #WearItPurpleDay
