23.01.2022 Hobart Out Tennis hosted their inaugural Winter Compass Tournament on Saturday, and WIO were there to offer support and information as part of the event, which ...was made possible by a grant from the Mental Health Council of Tasmania. Three of our staff also played in the tournament, which was huge fun and everyone was so happy and friendly, despite the chilly and windy weather! Congrats to all involved in organising the day, and hopefully this can become an annual thing. WIO can thoroughly recommend heading along to the weekly social hits that HOT have every Tuesday at the Domain Tennis Centre - no previous experience necessary! Contact HOT directly for more information. If you're interested in setting up your own 'Out Tennis' in your corner of Tassie, consider coming along to one of the remaining "Creating Community Connections" sessions being run by Ani, where you can get some tips on running your own community group or activity.

12.01.2022 The challenges faced by the Tasmanian community due to COVID-19 have tested us all. On this sunny Tuesday, let us all acknowledge the strength, resilience and hope we have shown as a community. Never underestimate hope and its power to connect and unite us. Our human compassion binds us the one to the other not in pity or patronizingly, but as human beings who have learnt how to turn our common suffering into hope for the future. Nelson Mandela
