18.01.2022 On this day, 100 years ago, 22 October 1920, the Mentone Life Saving and Swimming Club came into being after a Public Meeting where it was decided to take the step needed to establish a Club. There was no clubhouse, no lifesaving equipment and no trained members but the Club moved swiftly to establish itself. John Delves lent a boatshed to give a presence on the Mentone beach and Mr Dave Moreland was tasked with training 12 new members.

16.01.2022 Responsible Serving of Alcohol Course An RSA course will be held next Wednesday 2nd of December 2020 starting at 6.30pm to 9.30pm at the club for $40. This is a very popular course for kids 16+ to learn about responsible use of alcohol (only those 18 can serve alcohol), parents and adults. RSVP is essential by Tuesday 1st of December. Please email Helen Mosse [email protected] to confirm your spot and guests are welcome.

14.01.2022 The Virtual Coolangatta Gold is Coming to Mentone LSC! The Coolangatta Gold organisers have made the race virtual this year so athletes can participate where ever they are. We will be running the Short Course Coolangatta Gold race at Mentone LSC as teams in late Oct early Nov in a Covid Safe manner. The course will be 10.5km ski (U17-Adult), 2km swim (U14-Adult), 3km board(U14-Adult) and 5.5km run (U12-Adult). If you are keen to participate or have questions please email [email protected] Deadline for EOI is 19 Sept. Once we have all athletes we will then select teams and register.

05.01.2022 We have rescheduled the Club Championship from last season for Saturday 5 Dec. 2:30pm arrival for 3:00pm Start. Information on events and where to meet will be sent Friday evening.

02.01.2022 Mentone LSC is delighted to announce that our very own Kate Bell is one of the women chosen by SLSA to be a mentor over the next 12 months in this program aimed at developing female leadership skills. Kate will continue to be the Chair of our new club Building Committee throughout this period and we are so lucky to have members so devoted to our club and the broader life saving movement.
