The Chief Health Officer has declared the Perth metropolitan area and Peel region in Western Australia red zones (other than for transit) under Victoria’s ‘traffic light’ travel permit system from 2:01am Victorian time on Saturday 24 April. Additionally, if you are currently in Victoria and have been in the Perth metropolitan area and Peel region ...(other than for transit) between 17 April and 23 April inclusive, you must isolate, get a test within 72 hours, and stay isolated until you receive a negative result. 07.01.2022 One six year old Victorian boy is on a mission to inspire friends and family, the young and the old. Zac Cartwright from Cheltenham has a passion for history, p...articularly the two world wars and its led him to put pen to paper. With the help of his grandparents, he has researched and written two books about his great-grandfather who served in WWII, and his great-great-great uncle, a WWI veteran. I wrote the book because I want other people to learn about their relatives in the war and so more people can come to Anzac Day services. And thats exactly whats happened. His books have been shared and his mother Kim couldnt be prouder. A cousin contacted me to say she didnt know these things about our grandfather and shes now using the book to read to her kids and they are now making poppies to give to their friends. She noticed her sons growing love for all things war related when he was around 3 years old. My first thought was, you know, guns, tanks, and gore of course, but it was so much deeper than that. The young history buff shares his passion with his grandfather, who tells him story after story about some of the best and worst characters throughout history. He was telling me about John Monash and Albert Jacka but also about Hitler and how bad he was, said Kim. Zac would like his younger sister and friends to take away one message. They fought for us and died for us so we can have a happy life. Its these sentiments that Zac remembered on ANZAC Day, as he stood in his driveway alongside his parents, each one holding a candle and his front fence adorned with a home-made poppy chain. And it seems his hard work doesnt end here. Zac is already planning his next research project looking into more relatives who served in the First World War. As if thats not enough for such a young man, he can also proudly recite the Ode.

07.01.2022 How disappointing to see the War Memorial Gardens being destroyed; it is not a bike track or skate ramp. These gardens contain a cenataugh and memorial walls and are a place of reflection and commemoration for our veterans and community. If you see anyone causing damage please report it to the RSL or City of Kingston.

04.01.2022 Dear Members, Following Premier Dan Andrews update on Saturday 20th June (see link below), despite restrictions remaining in place we have decided to go ahead with our planned reopening on the smaller scale of 20 people (capacity per room), and look forward to the expected easing of this on July 12th to 50 patrons. https://www.premier.vic.gov.au/statement-from-the-premier-/...
