19.01.2022 DATE SET FOR MT KOSI WALK! Saturday 13th March 2021. This will run the same as the previous 3 attempts with 3 different tracks being able to be taken to the top.... The walk is for awareness and fundraising for Mentoring Men. An easy, moderate and extremely hard. This photo is taken at the campground and shows where you will be walking to. The highest point in this photo was around roughly 1500metres, so the actual peak is still well beyond this photo! If you are wanting to do the extremely hard walk and you are currently not very fit, then I would recommend starting to walk now in preparation! The difficult track is 20km with over 2000metres of elevation gain to climb. I have done it once and it was the toughest single day hike I have done. If you are interested in coming along to this then let me know! I have a few upcoming walks over the next few months as well. Cowan to Brooklyn, as well as one in the Blue Mountains to Lockleys Pylon and Mt Hay.

17.01.2022 This is a day to remind ourselves to be aware of mental wellbeing, both for yourself and others. But we must not take this day as a once-a-year occasion. R U OK day is a reminder to be aware of the significance of taking care of your own mental wellbeing and of looking out for others. Mental health is ALWAYS important.
17.01.2022 Theres no one right way to how to start the conversation with someone, but its about making sure you are there for them and knowing they can approach you. Here are some simple ways you can start a conversation about mental health when its time to talk: - Let them know you are there for them and are concerned - Acknowledge how it can be hard to open up and discuss personal feelings ... - Listen a lot of people dont want an answer from you, they just need to talk - Encourage them to access resources, information or support by pointing them in the right direction such as helplines or forums. - Stay in touch and be there for them. You could say: "I've been thinking of you and wanted to know how you've been going since we last chatted." See more

10.01.2022 Mental health and wellbeing need community support in addition to formal service support. Some of the ways you can help contribute to community support include volunteering, spreading awareness, and looking out for the mental wellbeing of you and those around you.

03.01.2022 Success can be achieved through a process of guidance. In our last Mentoring Moments video, our mentor-mentee duo talked about how mentoring can lead you to success. By being willing to learn from each other, the mentoring process can lead to growth in both the one being guided and the one guiding. This article goes further in discussing what makes a good mentor, a good mentee, and how it can help you achieve your goals, either as a mentor or a mentee!... If you are interested in signing up as a Mentor or a Mentee, click on the 'Sign Up' button on our page or via https://mentoringmen.org.au.
