24.01.2022 I was very proud and excited to hear many of our Mentor You students receiving early offers and phone interviews for the University of Wollongong Early Entry process. I will be helping and preparing students over the next fortnight, preparing them for their early offer interview. Please reach out if your son or daughter needs help with interview preparation. Things were done a little different this year compared to other years as obviously Covid-19 has thrown a spanner in the works. This document explains the assessment outcomes and the next steps. 21.01.2022 We need to be showing our young people how to eat properly. Learning to pack a healthy lunch box is an important life skill. Unhealthy and sugar fuelled diets can often lead to poor gut health, blurred mental clarity, poor concentration and distracted behaviours. 17.01.2022 UAC release its main round of unconditional offers this Wednesday morning at 7:30am. If you get what you're after then fantastic and congratulations. If you miss out on what you're after then you still have a chance. There are two more rounds in January and February and even one more in March. Changes for the first round in January must be made by midnight January 4th. These offers are released on Saturday 9th of January at 7:30am. 16.01.2022 Too often I hear parents telling me that this was their young person's reaction in December when their ATAR was released. This just makes me sad. And mad. It's not necessary. It's stressful. It's heart-breaking. And it can be prevented. How?... Through proper Careers Guidance and Advice. Options must be presented and discussed from Year 9 and 10 and not in the middle of Year 12 when exams and assessments are out of control. I'm a hosting a one-time-only web-class on Tuesday November 24, at 7:30pm. The web-class is free. And I'll show you why a low ATAR or even no ATAR is no big deal. As you can imagine, it's best if you get this information before Year 12. That's why I share it with parents who have a young person in year 9, 10 and 11. This information is so important that I'll make a recording available for 7 days after the web-class in case you can't attend on the night, but only people who register today will get the recording. 14.01.2022 Early bird applications for UAC close on September 30. Schools Recommendation Scheme closes on September 20. It’s best to have both of these applications completed by September 20. Educational Access Schemes can be completed at the same time. Please reach out if you need any help with the process.

11.01.2022 As a parent and a student you should never ever predict an ATAR. I have no issues whatsoever shutting a parent down who wants to talk ATAR projections. This is dangerous and can be soul destroying. Instead have a variety of options. ... My Post School Options Pack takes the power out of the ATAR and straight into the hands of the student. 06.01.2022 Opening on August 3rd 2020 is a new Early Entry Program from the Australian Catholic University. It's called the ACU Guarantee. It seems that this is in addition to the Law, Business and Community Achiever Program. You can register your interest here - https://www.acu.edu.au/stu/admission-pathways/acu-guarantee. Offers can be made as early as September. Receiving an early offer from a university can be a great stress relief for many of our Year 12 students and as a by product a better result come December 18, 2020.
