19.01.2022 Menucha Monuments are humbled that our tendered contract to supply the Sydney Jewish Community with headstones and inscriptions in the new Lawn Section at Rookwood has been renewed. We feel privileged to continue serving families who have buried their loved ones in the section with beautiful headstones and inscriptions. Wishing long life to all those who have had recent losses.
18.01.2022 Menucha Monuments, specialists in Heritage Restorations. The restoration of this incredible family vault overlooking the ocean was a special project undertaken by the descendants of the interred. Menucha Monuments cleaned, applied a biocide, repointed all the joints and re-gilded the lettering on the monument in accordance with heritage guidelines. The removal of the dirt and algae revealed the unique and beautiful trachyte, which was an unusual deep orange colour. We offer thanks and respect to the family for their efforts to preserve and honour history. Here are Before and After photos.
17.01.2022 Throwback to our trip to China last year for the International Stone Fair in Xiamen and visit to the factory.
09.01.2022 The motivations for erecting a monument are usually love and respect. But the monument also serves as an important primary source of history for current and future generations. We recently had the privilege of engraving and installing a very interesting monument at Waverley Cemetery, and were amazed to receive feedback from our client, the grandson of the deceased, that the monument has directly reunited him with long lost cousins. The family had been separated decades ago,... when George had to adopt out his youngest daughter under tragic circumstances. She was taken to Belgium, and her father and siblings in Sydney lost contact with her. For many years her children tried to find their family in Sydney without success, however after our client erected a monument to memorialise his grandfather, and the cemetery records were updated accordingly, their searching led them to the monument, and thus to their long lost cousins in Sydney!
