16.01.2022 Tinter Award Classifications - wfaanz Window Film Association of Australia and New Zealand Which award categories cover window film installers? All businesses and jobs are different, so determining which workplace award classification applies to window film installers can be quite confusing. An installer tinting cars everyday in a workshop has an extremely different work environment to an on-site flat glass tinter atop a scaffold, for example. Then there are many tinters wh...o handle both auto and flat glass. According to the NSW Business Chamber, most installers fall under one of two awards: Vehicle Manufacturing, Repair, Services and Retail Award 2010 (MA000089) Manufacturing and Associated Industries and Occupations Award 2010 (MA000010) Installers involved in both auto and flat glass need to determine where the majority of their time is spent to choose the correct award. Other classifications that may suit installers with broader job descriptions include: Building and Construction General Onsite Award 2010 (MA000020) Joinery and Building Trades Award 2010 (MA000029) Graphic Arts, Printing and Publishing Award 2010 (MA000026) General Retail Industry Award 2010 (MA000004) WFAANZ recommends you review the full description of each of these awards at the Fair Work Ombudsman's Award Finder website before deciding on the one that suits your employees: www.fairwork.gov.au/awards-and-agreeme nts/awards/find-my-award/

14.01.2022 An important industry alert from AWA-AGGA Limited AUSTRALIAN GLASS & WINDOW ASSOCIATION VIEW IN BROWSER STANDARDS AUSTRALIA PUBLICATION - AS 3959:2018 AMD 2:2020... AS 3959:2018 Construction of buildings in bushfire-prone areas is a primary reference in the NCC. This Standard specifies requirements for the construction of buildings in bushfire-prone areas in order to improve their ability to better withstand bushfire attack from burning embers, radiant heat, flame contact and combinations of the three attack forms. The first amendment to the standard was published in June 2019. The standards committee (FP-020) responsible for drafting and developing AS 3959 has now published a second amendment to AS 3959:2018. The main objective of AS 3959 (Amdt 2) is to make editorial changes to the document. The amendment includes (among other things) the following: Replacing the word ‘conforming’ with ‘that conforms’ throughout the document. Replacing the phrase ‘There are no requirements’ with ‘There is no requirement’ in Commentary 3.6.2. Replacing the minimum thickness of timber logs of ’70 m’ with ’70 mm’ in Clause 7.4.1 (b). Replacing ‘Crib Class A’ with ‘Crib Class A, B and C’ in Clause 3.8. MORE INFORMATION For more information and free download of the AS 3959:2018 AMD 2:2020, please visit the website of Standards Australia's Webstore powered by Techstreet. Please note at the time of writing this alert the free copy of AS 3959:2018 AMD 2:2020 was not available on SAI Global website (one of the Standards Australia’s distributors). 06.01.2022 Morning everyone At this stage we are not 100% sure if the Victorian warehouse can operate in the normal way, however 4 weeks ago in preparation for this, we sent 3 months worth of stock to our Perth warehouse. So there is no need to panic. We have received a significant amount of orders over the past 24 hours into the warehouse and we will do our best to process them, but as i have stated above, we have plenty of stock outside of Victoria.... Thanks for your patience during this very difficult and confusing time. More updates to follow as more details come to light.
