01.01.2022 G'day! ~ here's a little bit about me and the idea behind Merak. - For me the craft of making pottery and ceramic vessels is a meditative and intuitive process. I've been at it for 4 years just feelin my way through and always learning from other artists. Each piece I make is made with purpose and love using hand building techniques. I draw inspiration from the natural world around me, from colors, people, forms, shapes. My focus is always to honor the purpose of each object ...and its contents held within. - - Aside from clay, studied dark room techniques and film photography for 3 years, I source vintage clothing to sell sometimes, play banjo and washboard in bands, and work in a bar. - - The word Merak is a Serbian word, untranslatable to English. It defines the sense of bliss we feel from the simple pleasures in our day to day; the little things in our lives and in our homes that create happiness, comfort, and fulfillment. The word pretty much sums it all up for me! - - ~ Logo design by @__nadika__ ~ See more
