The 2016 Open Saddle Bronc event was won by David Stacey, with Scott Bennett taking out the 2nd Div Saddle Bronc event.

15.01.2022 Final results from tonight's rodeo: Well done to Sally Malay who took out the Open Bull Ride aggregate and to David Stacey who won the Open Saddle Bronc.

15.01.2022 For #throwbackthursday we've gone all the way back to 2008 - our second rodeo and the first one with horse events. The equine influenza outbreak in 2007 had turned our inaugural rodeo into a bull only event, so in 2008 we were excited to be able to offer a full rodeo with both bull and horse events. It also marked the beginning of our rodeo as a night event - beating the heat of a day event. This photo is from the bareback competition.

10.01.2022 For our penultimate #ThrowbackThursday post, we've gone back to 2018. 2018 saw local Paul Henschke return to the rodeo saddle, after retiring 20 years earlier, in an effort to raise money for Drought Relief. Paul was successful in riding for the 8 seconds in what was a very memorable ride.

09.01.2022 The barrel race, both senior and junior events, are always hotly contested at the Merbein Rodeo. 2017 was no exception. The 2017 Ladies Barrel Race was won by Julie Breed, with Dana Johnson winning the Junior event. #throwbackthursday

09.01.2022 THROWBACK THURSDAY - With this week being what would have been the 6 week countdown to this year's rodeo, we thought we might start a weekly throwback Thursday, to celebrate some of our previous rodeos. Today's shot is from our very first Merbein Community Rodeo, held in 2007. Originally planned as a full rodeo, changes had to be made due a virus (sound familiar??). 2007 was the year that equine influenza made its way into Australia, and as a result all horse events were cancelled. The 2007 rodeo was held during the day - we moved to a night event later - and was a bull riding only event. #ThrowbackThursday

09.01.2022 Preparations are starting to step us for this year's rodeo. To help look after our competitors who often travel long distances to compete, we are planning on introducing a travel subsidy for unplaced competitors in open rough stock events this year.
