25.01.2022 Footy Day Reminder The 3 year old groups have had a terrific time this week celebrating FOOTY DAY... now it’s the 4 year old groups turn! ... TODAY (Thursday) : Gp A FRIDAY: Gp B & C Pop on your favourite team colours and join us! We will be enjoying pies and sausage rolls for lunch and getting active with our footy drills! It will be a fun way to finish off a busy term! Xx

25.01.2022 Appreciation Post! We would like to say a very big THANK YOU to Catherine from Sunraysia Arts and Learning for our wonderful music program throughout the year. Catherine has dedicated lessons to teaching our staff all about music- the many facets of it and how we can engage and enjoy music together with the children. It has been a fascinating program, with the kinder children thoroughly enjoying every session: learning new songs, discovering our rhythm, beat and tone. Chil...dren who may have initially sat back and watched are now fully engaged in the program. We have loved watching the transformation. Many families have reported that the children have been singing at home and teaching their family members items from Catherine’s classes- amazing! So thank you Catherine.. you have ignited our musical flames and brought a great deal of light and laughter into our Kinder this year. Love from us all xx See more

17.01.2022 Good morning friends REMINDER! All 4 year old groups A, B , C are making ‘mindfulness glitter bottles’ this week, as part of our ‘The Resilience Project’ program. ... Please bring in an empty plastic water bottle ASAP, so we are ready to roll! Small size please (eg 500ml), not a big 1.25l as we will be using them in activities. 15.01.2022 Hello at all IMPORTANT NEWS Enrolment time for 2021 is Approaching....... We are taking pre enrolments for 3 year old and four year kindergarten NOW, with letters offering places to be sent out mid-late August..so not long! Thanks to the contributions of families we have set our plan for 2021 and are happy to announce that we will be changing our session times to better suit our kinder families by offering longer hours from 2021. Please note : All children currently attending our 3 year old program are automatically on our enrolment list for 4 year old kinder next year. Don't miss out! We have grievance officers made up of volunteer Committee members that are happy to work with you to ensure that your experience with MPK is satisfactory. 11.01.2022 Hi everyone, ...COVID UPDATE... We are sure you are all aware of the recent announcement of Stage 3 restrictions for our area.... As per Government recommendations, our Kinder remains open to all families and we will continue our usual fun and educational program! Our hygiene and cleaning practices remain, as do the current drop off/pick up procedures. We strongly encourage everyone to maintain social distancing at drop off/pick up and to PLEASE keep your child home if they show any signs of illness MASKS All staff will wear a mask during drop off/pick up procedures. Staff are not required to wear them in the classroom/during the session with the children. ALL ADULTS and children over 12 (unless exemptions apply) will be required to wear a mask when dropping off/picking up their child at Kinder. This is a Government requirement so please ensure you have your mask ready. Masks are not mandatory/required for children under 12. Please see staff if you have any questions regarding the latest rules. Stay safe everyone and let’s all stick together and support one another, as we always do

08.01.2022 Hi everyone Our current Covid procedures will have a slight change from next week ... We currently take daily temperature readings of the children (as per recommended guidelines), once they enter the classroom.... From Monday, we will now be taking the children’s temperature at the gate. The children are very comfortable with our regular temperature checks (we use a digital contactless thermometer), so this little adjustment of gate checks shouldn’t be a problem at all for our champion students! As always, we will continue to keep families updated on any changes to our safety procedures. Happy weekend everyone xx

07.01.2022 Hello to all IMPORTANT NEWS!! IT’S ENROLMENT TIME!!... Enrolment letters will be posted out THIS week! So please check your mailboxes & kinder note-pockets if you have a child attending our Kinder in 2021. Letters will have all the information for group and session times for 2021. ***When you receive your letter, please read it carefully.... There is a CLEAR, STEP-BY-STEP guide on HOW TO ENROL. You have several weeks to return your enrolments, so don’t stress! ALSO... Due to the governments 'no jab, no play' policy, the kinder MUST HAVE a copy of your child's IMMUNISATION STATEMENT, which you can get from Medicare. ***We are unable to use your child's 'baby book' immunisation page ( Maternal Child Health Nurse Book). So organise your child's immunisation statement now, so you have it ready for enrolment. If you do not receive your letter (eg. you may have changed address and not notified the Kinder) please call us on 50252491. Or please give us a call if you need further info or clarification. All visitors will be required to sanitise upon entry, sign in and maintain social distancing practices, as per our COVID protocols. Open Day is a chance for new families to visit our centre, take a look around at our wonderful facilities and speak to our friendly staff. We can also answer any questions and help families to enrol their child, to ensure families don't miss out on a Kinder place in 2022 and beyond. Merbein Kinder is NOT part of the Council Central Enrolment system. 01.01.2022 ENROLMENT UPDATE Hi All We have decided to extend our enrolment intake for another week. ... Now giving families until next Friday the 18th to get their preference forms, UP- TO- DATE immunisation form and $30 deposit back to us. We understand that sometimes these things get forgotten or placed on a never ending To-do list and we don't anyone to miss out. Again we would like to express that although we try our best to offer families their 1st preference, this isn't always possible, so we encourage families to make sure that their 2nd preference also works for them. 01.01.2022 Our Coward's Cakes Pie Drive is on again! Order forms were popped in the notes pockets last week. Fundraising in lock down does pose some challenges but you might like to try - ... * popping a post on your facebook page inviting friends and family to place an order to support the kinder... * send a text or group message on facebook to collect orders... * perhaps ask for money to be transferred to your account so you're not left chasing up cash later... * if you or a family member are still working in a workplace see if they may be able to collect some orders for you... Order forms and money were due back in next Thursday but we'll extend that to the morning of Friday 4th when lock down hopefully ends. Please have orders and money delivered to the kinder fees box in the foyer by 10am this Friday 4th June. Thank you for helping to support the kinder in our fundraising efforts.
