24.01.2022 Just a reminder Dont take on extra burdens trying to make everyone happy

23.01.2022 Stop trying to run away from anxiety because its futile. Rather, spend that energy learning to listen to what the anxiety is trying to alert you to and deal with that issue so you can find freedom and not make your mind a prison

23.01.2022 I dont ever want anyone to suppress how they feel or feel like their emotions and pain is invalidated so by all means to get it out and talk to someone! But be... careful of overdoing it and overindulged in the pain without looking at a solution. The solution could simply be to bring the other person into the conversation. Signs you are over-complaining and over-indulging: 1) talking about the problem only seems to make you feel worse 2) the only people you talk to about the issue are involved with the person as well. You arent getting outside objectives (from a therapist for example) 3) the way you perceive the other person who gets worse 4) thinking about how you have been hurt is all you think about See more

22.01.2022 Love this from @codependencycurious! How can you build more of these actions and items into your daily routine this week?

22.01.2022 Today is #suicidepreventionday. One major reason people dont get help is because they feel stigmatized and judged. We need to normalize talking about depressio...n and hard feelings so we can process and heal. If you are someone you know is struggling with suicidal thoughts first of all know that you are so loved and needed. You may not feel it but you are important, and we all need you. Second, do not feel ashamed about having suicidal thoughts. Its not your fault, and these thoughts and feelings can be reconceptualized and healed. And if you know someone who is suicidal do not judge them or think theyre crazy. Rather show love and compassion even if you dont understand. Be a support and pillar; a safe harbor. This is more powerful than anything! Swipe through for additional resources and suicide help hotlines around the world. Also, if you or someone you know is struggling with self-harming behaviors then be sure to listen to my podcast episode (197) with @katimorton on this topic. Its packed with great tips on how you can help, signs of self-harming behavior, and more: https://anchor.fm//Signs-someone-may-be-self-harming--how-

15.01.2022 Don't let feelings of rejection determine how you behave. Don't let other people project their insecurities on to you.

14.01.2022 Its good to be proud of who you are, but also be proud of what could have happened but didnt because you recognized the toxic patterns of past behaviors or re...cognized and chose not to repeat unhealthy habits your parents displayed. It takes so much work to break toxic cycles, especially ones developed in childhood so celebrate your accomplishments! See more

05.01.2022 Our inner critic can be a motivating force to do better and be better, but sometimes that critic needs to be silenced. Here are some simple things you can do that Ive found helpful in my own life!

05.01.2022 Most times an argument or negative emotion is not just due to an isolated event. Our past memories and experiences play a major role in our perception of the cu...rrent situation, and how we react. That’s why it’s so important to get curious when you react and analyze how much of the past is playing a part. Do you have something that needs to be addressed and dealt with? What perceptions are you holding onto? It’s time to start healing the past so it doesn’t negatively affect your present and future. If you find you are struggling to address past trauma and toxic habits then I want to invite you to join my 2020 Virtual Mental Health Summit (Dec 3-6) where there will be sessions on healing childhood trauma, how to deal with toxic words and people, how to overcome toxic thinking habits and more! Register here: https://www.drleafconference.com

03.01.2022 How often do you let should define your emotional and mental wellbeing? How often does should make you feel guilty? Rather than focusing on what you shoul...d do or have done, acknowledge the validity of your emotions and experiences. Only then can you begin to process them, otherwise what needs to be uncovered is clouded in shame and guilt. Instead of should statements, ask yourself how is this going to serve me? Or what are these emotions trying to tell me? And be grateful to your mind and body for having the capacity to feel these emotions. Be grateful for the opportunity to experience emotions, even when they are messy and confusing!

03.01.2022 Dont let feelings of rejection determine how you behave. Dont let other people project their insecurities on to you.

01.01.2022 Just a little extra motivation to help you do the hard work! This is especially true for parents! Be an example for your children.
