22.01.2022 This weeks craft activity is a handprint Duck! All you have to do is trace your hand, draw a head and beak, and add some details like a pond! The whole family can get involved - parents can trace their hands for parent ducks, and the kids can be baby ducks! Heres some fun duck facts to talk about while you draw:... - Ducks feet have no blood vessels or nerve endings, meaning that they cant feel cold! Very helpful for swimming during the cold winter months. - Preening is when ducks groom themselves to get rid of dust, .org and parasites. When they do this, they spread a waxy waterproof oil onto their feathers as well! - The more sunlight a mother duck gets during the day, the more eggs she will lay! Send us your duck family pictures if you give this one a go!

National Sorry Day is important to us at Mercy Community and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities we work with. We collectively learn from history and those impacted either directly or indirectly, to assist in sharing our understanding of the event and the Bringing them Home report. Together we can share in working towards healing our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and reflect on the national apology. This week you can collect a National Sorry Day printout from the Hub for your children to colour in #nationalsorryday
