25.01.2022 BETHANY: Daffodil Day is an annual opportunity to raise money to help the fight against cancer. Even though 2020 has been a dramatically different year in a number of ways, residents still came together to show their support for the Cancer Council and the important research it funds. At Bethany, residents enjoyed a delicious morning tea, before playing a special Daffodil Day game of bingo. Theres not much better than playing a favourite game, while raising money for a worthy cause! Pictured: Margaret Scherer, Denise Lacey, Bob Chilton

25.01.2022 MERCY DAY THERAPY: The Mercy Therapy team recently surprised their Manager, Jenny Grillmeier, with a special celebration lunch for her birthday. The therapy team has members across the day therapy centres and residential aged care facilities, so its very unusual for them all to be together. It was a lovely surprise for Jenny to have her whole team in one spot and at the same time. She had no clue it was happening and was pleasantly surprised. How old was she? We cannot say..., but we think over 21 years... Happy Birthday Jenny! Pictured: Jenny Grillmeier, Dinie King, Gurpinder Shanda, Shadei Nand, Natasha Old, Sarah Bell, Anna Moore and Lucy Thackeray. 24.01.2022 McAULEY PLACE: On a beautiful cool but sunny day, McAuley residents ventured out to the Rockhampton Zoo. Our group was delighted to meet the meerkats, the newest additions to the zoo family. We also enjoyed seeing the baby chimp (who's not so much a baby anymore!) and the beautiful macaw. These gorgeous animals are great at bringing smiles to faces and it was no different for our intrepid explorers. Pictured: Sr Gabriel Kennedy, Sr Dominica Camilleri and Valerie Simpson.... 23.01.2022 MERCY DAY RESPITE: A strange sensation took hold at Day Respite in October - Friday Fever! We were transported back in time to the 1970s, as we revisited the glory days of disco. Our staff showed they know how to do it: dressing in their best threads and cutting a rug to some of the finest tunes the time could offer. ... There was a lot of reminiscing and sharing experiences of the time from those who were there, while the rest just kicked back and enjoyed the good vibes. Groovy moves, everybody!
