25.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who came along to The Design Gallery over the weekend to say farewell and see my exhibition. It’s a great feeling to know more of my art has found its home! (Photos attached of some of the art I’ve said goodbye to this week ). All the best to everyone on the Central Coast, I’ve enjoyed so much being part of this community for the past 19 years, and sharing art with you. Cheers

24.01.2022 Recently I’ve started reading about and researching South Australian women artists from the late 1800s to mid 1900s, and there are many! A favourite is Dorrit Black (1891-1951) whose work was shown in a retrospective exhibition at the Art Gallery of South Australia in 2014. Amazing. https://www.artistprofile.com.au/dorrit-black/ Photo: Dorrit Black, ‘Coast road’, 1942 oil painting of coast south of Adelaide

23.01.2022 Where I live now my work room doubles up as the art studio and study/office, plus was the only available space to store my collection of ‘spare’ framed artworks. It was too cluttered!!! So after a recent declutter (thank goodness for storage units), and a few goes at rearranging, I now have SPACE again! One side is my art space, and along the other wall is my study/computer space. And not surprisingly more work is getting done on both sides of the room Photo shows my decluttered art space and an artwork of the Murray River started a while ago after a trip to the SA Riverland. Hopefully I will now make some progress!

22.01.2022 Said farewell to Woy Woy and the Central Coast on Tuesday, currently wending my way on a road trip to South Australia and my new home in Adelaide.

22.01.2022 Just delivered my entry to the Walkerville Art Show, opening Friday night 2 October till Saturday 10 October. Here’s a photo of the artwork before framing. ‘The Tree’, pastel on black paper, based on photos taken of the huge old gum trees in Hazelwood Park.

22.01.2022 Hello to everyone in these weird, anxiety-provoking times. I hope you and your loved ones stay safe and well. Sharing an image especially for everyone on the Central Coast of NSW, with greetings from my home now in Adelaide.

20.01.2022 Check out the page I’ve set up to post photos of my local park

12.01.2022 Wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas and a healthy and happy 2019. Looking forward to getting back into art after settling into my new home in Adelaide! Photos: In Hazelwood Park, a short walk from my place, and part of the garden from the front porch.

06.01.2022 This is my entry in Palliative Care Australia’s 2019 online art competition exhibition, based on a photo of my mother in the last days of her life one year ago..... Vote for the People’s Choice at: https://dyingtotalk.org.au/art/gallery/ The theme for the 2019 competition is To Infinity & Beyond, aiming to encourage artists (of all ages and abilities) to consider beyond the limitations that are often placed on those living with life-limiting conditions, and focus on the potential opportunities for love, laughter, creativity and fulfilment at the end of life. Photo: ‘Mind Garden and the Circle of Life’, artwork using hard pastel and pastel pencil, by Meredith Gilmore, July 2019. Direct link to artwork online https://dyingtotalk.org.au/art/gallery/

05.01.2022 Yes, I am still doing pastel artworks.... been playing with different ideas while exhibitions weren’t on for a few months. Aiming to ‘get out there’ with some new work soon..... In the meantime, for something different, I also started a mosaics class this term, and finished my first work today! Wall hanging in ceramic tile, 20x20cm CMosaics

05.01.2022 Did this one as a practice piece for a possible series based on photos taken on a trip to Greece in 2017. This is my pastel adaptation of an artwork print I saw in a shop in Santorini, incorporating ideas from some of my photos. Apologies and thanks to the unknown artist whose work this is derived from, I’ve spent ages doing online searches with no result, and if I wrote down the name of the artist I can’t find that either.....

04.01.2022 FINALLY set up the easel in my new art studio/study in Adelaide! Step one done.... so stay tuned for an actual artwork..... Now that the weather's being a little kinder, the next step though is to get out and about to take photos, as resource material for new artworks with a South Australian flavour. I've also recently joined the Pastel Artists of South Australia, and went along to a meeting last weekend.

03.01.2022 A quick, colourful memory of my little mate who quit this earth two years ago. (14 cm sq, pastel pencil on black tex paper)

02.01.2022 Looking forward to being able to travel interstate again! This is an artwork I did called ‘Magnetic Island Rocks’, based on photos taken on a boat trip around the island on a visit in 2016. Visit Townsville, Australia

01.01.2022 Playing on the computer with photos and composition for new artworks after my recent trip to Riverland - Murray River..... and crossing fingers to have some news works to post soon. In the meantime, here’s the view from art room/study window, looking out to my courtyard.
