13.01.2022 If you had told me a few years ago that I'd write a novel about a bunch of blokes in prison making a dress, I might have laughed out loud. It is 2021 though, and stranger things have already happened. All stories require an element of world building and must include those authentic details of everyday life that underpin the events that unfold. On this journey to write The Dressmakers of Yarrandarrah Prison I have immersed myself in so many different worlds. Often they seemed at odds with each other, but in the end, they all lead me to the same dark lonely place where things of beauty are made.
