25.01.2022 As we start to see our Covid numbers drop and the easing of some restrictions, it seems a fitting time to say thanks to those who have been keeping us safe throughout the pandemic

24.01.2022 Here’s a video of the train! Pretty glad he honked the horn or there would have been some disappointed kids (apologies to the trainspotters recording the train sounds!! )
24.01.2022 The Grade 5/6s have created David Attenborough inspired documentaries this week - learn about the ‘Wooden Spoonville Homo Sapiens’ with James. I wonder if their population will grow over the weekend

22.01.2022 Just a reminder about how to connect your home WiFi to a school device. Once connected, your device will be running though your internet provider and the safety settings you have set up home. The school safety settings will not apply.

18.01.2022 The grade 5/6s were lucky enough to travel back to the 1850s today with a visit from Sovereign Hill. With the COVID-19 restrictions, we are unable to visit Sovereign Hill for excursions (they are open Fri/Sat/Sun if you want something to do as a family), but had the opportunity to participate in the special COVID-19 adapted incursion program! The classroom was transformed into rows with a boys and girls side and we wrote on slates, recited songs and learned the 16 times tables. We learned how strict teachers were in the 1850s and how education for women was not a priority! It was great to have this experience, especially at this time - thanks Sovereign Hill!
17.01.2022 Please see details and times for events tomorrow.
17.01.2022 A great write-up in the Golden Plains Times.

16.01.2022 Yesterday Mr. Trotter was invited over to our Meredith Kinder to support the National Simultaneous Story time for 2021. The text this year was ‘Give Me Some Space’ by Philip Bunting. After reading we all did some space walking and some fun space activities. Please remember to book in for our first mini Kinder to Prep transition afternoon on Tuesday 8th June. We already have a number of our new 2022 students joining us on the first day..... we can’t wait!!!!!

15.01.2022 Things are cooling off at Meredith PS over the holidays before the learning heats up in term 4. Thanks Scotty Thompson for the photos.
15.01.2022 As you will already know, from Monday, it is mandatory for masks to be worn for adults and children aged 12 and over. At school, students are not required to wear masks, however children 12 and over must wear them to and from school. Teachers are also required to wear masks at all times, except when teaching face to face. This will be a very big change for students (and teachers) and might be a little bit confronting in the beginning. Armstrong Creek School has created a social story that you are welcome to share with your children to help explain the changes, and prepare them for Monday.
15.01.2022 Do yourself a favour Get comfortable, get the family together, and watch Meredith Primary School School Captains (Harley & Lilly) in an exclusive interview with a genuine sporting star and a genuine human. This is Part One, with Part Two being published next week, enjoy

14.01.2022 As you will have heard, as a result of the recent Covid numbers, we are heading into a snap 7 day lockdown and a return to remote learning. More detailed information has been sent out to families via Compass. Staff have been busy working to put together learning packs which will be sent home tonight. If you require more information, please check Compass or contact the school. We’ve done this before and we can do it again!
14.01.2022 We had working bee #1 today for the Meredith Community Garden. Due to the wet weather over the weekend, we were unable to do too much as the ground is a bit too soft for the excavators, however we marked out the fence posts, changed the sign and enjoyed sandwiches from The Rustic Ram! Our next working bee is next Thursday - please visit the Hands of Change website to register https://handsofchange.org.au
14.01.2022 Meredith Primary School presents our unique foundation support program, 'The School Readiness Program 2020/21.' 11.01.2022 Dear Families, Many of you would be listening to the new advice. In brief school as per normal tomorrrow, Tuesday will be pupil free, Wednesday we will return to remote learning. At the moment I have no further advice from DET but as soon as I have this I will communicate with families. Right now, stay positive and reassure your kids. We have done this before and we didn’t ‘just do it’ we did it well as a team and we will again. Stay safe and see the kids tomorrow. Regards Steven Trotter Principal

06.01.2022 It was terrific to join Meredith Primary School Principal Steven Trotter and students Harley, Lily, Megan and Celeste at the launch of the Meredith Community Ga...rden earlier this afternoon. 03.01.2022 On Monday, a group of very nervous grade 5s gave their School Captain speeches and on Thursday we announced the new leaders for 2021. All students and staff had the opportunity to vote. We would like to congratulate our new School Captains - Celeste and Megan and our Vice Captains - Logan and Shaylah. We know you’ll do an amazing job. And to our outgoing leaders - Harley, Lilly, Madelyn and Maxee, well done on being great leaders throughout this incredibly strange and different 2020! It may have been a bit different, but you certainly got some different opportunities and learned new skills!
03.01.2022 Today has a real 'mask' theme and for those that are fans of the Masked Singer will love today's celebrity guest. In a few weeks Meredith PS has a very exciting opportunity with an Australian sporting star. Our school captains will be conducting a Zoom interview on the 2nd of September with this star and the interview will be posted on Facebook soon after. Keep an eye out for this amazing access and opportunity for Meredith PS. (I do say "next week" for the interview in todays assembly but it will be the following week). Stay safe and health and see you all next week.

Special thanks to Vasili's for his words of wisdom and advice. A very special thanks to Nichola Sleight for her planning expertise and final drawings. You can see her handywork and precision in the video! Stay tuned for further information on how to volunteer for the build and which days we will be having working bees. See more

01.01.2022 This Friday is World Teachers Day. At Meredith PS we have a lot to celebrate and be proud of with the amazing work our teachers do and amazing people our teachers are, and this could not be more evident this year. Please feel free to send a message (below or via your child) to our outstanding teachers at Meredith to show support and thank them for the care and contribution they make to the lives of our students. Here’s a little video from our staff earlier this year after a little bit lockdown relief. #teachersday #thankteachers #brightfuture
