25.01.2022 Fresh weekend mornings are wonderful for a slow start. Savouring warm blankets and hot cups of tea, reading and daydreaming about the cool, calm day ahead. There’s power in a slow start.

20.01.2022 Recently I was coaching a client on visibility and profile, and it was clear she had made this common mistake. Read more https://lttr.ai/g0by #sponsorship #promotion #career #careerprogression #talent

17.01.2022 When you’re the only one in the room, something happens. You do relax sometimes and forget for a while, especially when you know and like the others in the room. Still.... You’re the only one in the room. It’s hard to be unaffected. It’s important not to be ineffective or to waste the opportunity. It’s exhausting bearing the weight of representation and expectation. Some topics pass by or are easy to contribute to. Others are fraught. Your question or your answer may be seen as weighted because you’re the only one in the room. You may be asked to speak for all of your kind, when you’re the only one in the room. You may not be asked to speak, when you’re the only one in the room. You may feel like the token or under the spotlight, when you’re the only one in the room. And sometimes you can relax and enjoy the conversation and forget you’re the only one in the room. Still. The best things you can do are to forge ahead being you and lift others up, so you are no longer the only one in the room. See more

15.01.2022 Curators used to mean an expert, perhaps an art or historical expert, who selected, organised and cared for collections. You can curate your wardrobe or your feed. You can curate your book collection so they’re rainbow sequence instead of alpha a la @thehomeedit It’s been a big weekend in our household and threatened to be a busy, short week ahead so I’ve curated my week to make sure I focus on what matters.... What are you doing this week? What are you doing on purpose? What do you wish you’d curated? See more

14.01.2022 Loving all the Play to your Strengths workshops with teams at the moment. It’s a season of resetting and reconnecting. Did you know there’s a 1 in 33 million chance you’ll have the same combination of Strengths in the same order as someone else? #mindboggling I love working with leaders to create and cultivate team cultures that embrace the unique talents of each team member but leverage the power of each persons contribution into performance. It’s not team building without purpose. It’s unlocking potential and performance of individuals and teams, using a positive framing so teams are up for the conversation. #leadersworthfollowing #culturesworthbelongingto #workworthdoing

12.01.2022 Appearance isn’t more valuable than our achievements or our abilities. Instead of assigning value to things outside of our control, we can offer compliments that focus on intelligence, intuition, presence, creativity, and emotional capacity. Go ahead - makes someone’s day

07.01.2022 Unfortunately Strong opinions, loosely held has been co-opted by the #techbro culture. The ability to lightly hold and play with a concept or idea without becoming too attached or protective / defensive has been with us since the Ancient Greeks. Plato called it discourse which was the ability to talk about an idea separate to ourselves. To evaluate its merits without attachment to (or attack) the person who shared the idea. Even our language - when we articulate... what we are thinking, we share ideas - positions us to engage lightly and collaboratively in discussion. @adamgrant gives us this great quote from his book, Originals argue like you’re right but listen like you’re wrong. If you don’t believe what you’re sharing, none of us will engage with it either. However, believe something too strongly and we’re likely to run a mile too. So back your idea, but be prepared to share, discuss and evolve that idea collaboratively. Drop the defensiveness, forget the protective power plays - step up, state your case and work with your team / peers to improve the idea and evolve your thinking. Together. See more

07.01.2022 When coaching leaders, I have found the psychology of future self helpful to break through some belief barriers about what is possible. I'm always struck by how many successful people impose self-limiting beliefs on themselves... imagine how much more they could achieve, how much greater their impact could be if they only thought bigger. #career #development #leadership #executives #coach

06.01.2022 Maya Angelou said, When you know better, you do better.

05.01.2022 You’ve probably heard the phrase, time is money, but if you counted how you spent your time today, has it been a good investment? Do you budget your time? How long you allocate to a task? How much you spend doing high value tasks? How much time you waste? Do you invest your time wisely?... If you thought of time as non-refundable, would you spend it differently? See more
