20.01.2022 Interesting article on some womens perception of exercise and gyms.

20.01.2022 Exercise physiologist are allied health professionals that specialise in prescribing exercise as medicine. There's a lot of ways they can help you to "Exercise ...Right", and these are just a few of them. If you need help to start moving more but aren't sure where to start, talk to your local Accredited Exercise Physiologist! Find one near you by clicking the link in bio. #ExerciseRight

19.01.2022 More on #exercise and #ADHD

19.01.2022 Hi everyone now we have come out of our mini-lockdown here are some considerations when #exercising indoors and outdoors.

17.01.2022 Did you know that regular exercise can reduce your risk of developing some cancers? But it's not just that... For those who have been diagnosed with cancer, exe...rcise (prescribed by an Accredited Exercise Physiologist) can help to manage symptoms and improve outcomes during treatment and recovery. It's a great reminder that exercise isn't just about keeping you fit and maintaining a healthy weight... Movement truly is medicine! #MovementisMedicine #ExerciseRightWeek2020

17.01.2022 I have been mostly quiet for the past few weeks as I have navigated my way through this current situation of COVID-19. For the past 4-6 weeks my priorities have been with my students and clients at USQ Sport and Exercise Clinic to ensure they were safe and healthy and that we followed the advice from @Queenslandhealth I am sad to say we had to make the decision to close our doors as of tomorrow to continue to ensure our students and clients were removed from any risk.... On the upside my vision to offer #telehealth services has been thrust upon us without the strategic rollout we had been planning. So now I will supporting and teaching my students how to service their clients through this not so new medium. As for my own private business Merendi Health & Wellness I have been planning to move my services online and once again due to COVID-19 the universe has forced my hand. I already had a few clients whom I consulted with via telephone or Skype as they either lived in rural and remote or had disabilities that prevented them from visiting me in person. @myhealthforlife had approached me end of last year to see if I would be interested in running their education program via zoom and of course I agreed, but this was not supposed to kick off til June. Now it appears my April program will becomes one of the first to be run online. So with an open heart I am embracing this new change and to be honest I am excited as offering #telehealth services has been a goal of mine for many years and now the universe is forcing me to do it now rather than procrastinate about how best to set it up. I am also excited as moving my uni clinic work and business online for sometime, which means I can now work from home and be here for when my children get home from school. My day will be more productive and less disruptive as I wont need to be travelling and attending meetings in person. Dont get me wrong I will miss the face to face contact and interaction with my students and clients, but this new era will just be a different way to connect with them.

17.01.2022 10 exercises you can do that does not require equipment.

17.01.2022 Interesting statement regarding the #physicalactivityguidelines

14.01.2022 A day late, but never too late to share.

14.01.2022 How awesome. Was just listening to a #podcast on this exact topic of #prehab for #cancerpatients

11.01.2022 Consistency is key

11.01.2022 In light of the current Coronavirus situation we are supporting those clients who choose to not visit us in person for a consultation due to their compromised health. Therefore at no extra cost we are going to offer all consultations from tomorrow via #telehealth until further notice. You will have the choice to attend a consultation via telephone, Zoom, FaceTime or via our Physitrack app. ... When booking your appointment just let us know what your preference is. We look forward to continuing to work with you to achieve your health, wellness and rehabilitation goals. We want to ensure all our valued clients remain healthy, and by offering #telehealth services is one way we can continue to support them.

10.01.2022 I agree with this. I have seen a teen with Leukemia recently to help improve muscle endurance and strength and manage symptoms of fatigue.

10.01.2022 Hi everyone I wanted to share that I have released a podcast series through USQ on staying healthy whilst at home. Feel free to listen, like and even subscribe. Please share with your friends, family and network. The more who listen the better! I am looking to continue to add other health related podcasts in the future.... I welcome suggestions and ideas of topics we could discuss.

09.01.2022 Seems ludicrous that WorkcoverQld and NDIS have allowed allied health to bill teleconference services during this tome of social distancing but Medicare and DVA remain undecided. Please support your allied health Providers. http://chng.it/CtCCFjDPWF

09.01.2022 I dont often talk to my clients about my own journeys, but after seeing this article how could I not? My eldest child at age 15 has been diagnosed with one of the 3 forms of #ADHD earlier this year. We are still navigating our way through this new diagnosis of #inattentiveADD but being an #exercisephysiologist I truly understand and have seen the #benefits of #exercise #sport and #physicalactivity have had on all my children. Due to COVID19 and lack of support from his fath...er who is my ex my eldest has not been participating as much in sport or physical activity. Also being a teen the research dies show that #teens tend to turn away from Au h activities. I will be sharing this article with all my teens and encouraging them all to recommence some kind of #physicalactivity #exerciseismedicine no matter your age or health issues. I hope this article brings some support and guidance to parents of children/teens and adults who have ADHD.

01.01.2022 Our lives have changed A LOT in the last two weeks, but staying physically active has never been more important. New restrictions are limiting what we can and c...an't do in terms of daily exercise, but there are still plenty of ways to stay active. Here's what's allowed: GO OUTSIDE: You can still go outside for daily exercise, as long as you are not in groups of more than two people (excluding family units). A walk, run or bike ride is a great way to get some fresh air and will do wonders for your mental health. SEE AN ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONAL (AHP): You are still allowed to visit an AHP, like an exercise physiologist, at their clinic as exercise services provided by these professionals are deemed to be essential. USE TELEHEALTH: Many exercise services can be delivered online, but its important to make sure youre getting the right advice. We recommend seeking out an exercise professional who is accredited with Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA), as they are required to adhere to strict telehealth standards. Additionally, thanks to an announcement earlier this week from the Federal Government, services delivered by an allied health professional via telehealth are now eligible for rebates under Medicare. WORKOUT AT HOME: The gym might be off limits, but you can still do a great workout at home (with or without equipment). For a great list of exercise ideas and free workout videos, check out our website. #ExerciseRight #StayHome

01.01.2022 One more time for the cheap seats in the back... Exercise is MEDICINE! Thanks to all those who have supported our "Exercise Right for Doctors" campaign.
