19.01.2022 GREENIES GROMMETS UPDATE 2021 - WE ARE BACK. Hope everyone is well and is looking forward to the back end of a year different to any other. With everything heading in the right direction, we are planning to kick grommets off early next year after Term 1 holidays. ... Registrations will go out after Christmas and we look forward to seeing everyone's faces again along with plenty of new faces. Cheers, Blake & James
17.01.2022 The first pre Christmas Greens training session on Monday was very successful. A big welcome to the new faces. Thank you to Adam and the crew, and well done to All for the enthusiasm shown. Kramer said:... Great result ladies and gents, but we are only just getting started. It's an exciting time to be involved or GET involved with the best club in Australia". Training is on Monday night 16 November Gibbs Bros, be ready for a 6pm start. Bring both runners and boots. This week there will be some more detailed explanation about the program and how each activity integrates into Rugby and general fitness. After training there will be a bbq and drinks hosted by some Merewether Carlton Old Boys, and Legends. See you there!

04.01.2022 ***** ANNOUNCEMENT ***** Jamie Lind (Kramer) has been appointed as Head Coach of MCRC for the 2021 Season. At a Committee Meeting last night the 2007 and 2011 Premiership winner was given the GREEN light to implement a Player and Coaching plan well developed in conjunction with Nick Ryan and MCRC Committee members. Stephen Mackay (Slender) was appointed as Rugby Operations Manager.... The 2021 Coaching and Management Group have been approached and will be announced shortly. All players will be contacted directly over the next 2 weeks and advised of the pre Christmas training and social schedule. Jamie said I am honoured to be appointed and looking forward to playing my role in developing the Club and having all players able to be playing their best Rugby. Congratulations Jamie Lind

01.01.2022 The MCRC AGM was held Sunday 21 November at 4pm in the Green Room. There was a solid attendance of over 60, including a good number of Old Boys and current players. The new MCRC Board was formalised as follows:... - John Davis, President - John Garis, Treasurer - Luke Tresidder, Secretary - James Callinan, Junior Liaison Officer - Jode Roach,Ordinary Member - Paul O’Rourke, Ordinary Member - Jenny Hawes, Ordinary Member - Michael Edwards, Ordinary Member - Bill Dunn, Club Captain (continuing) Outgoing Committee members were thanked for their contribution. Special mention to Steve Hika" Reid for his long and enduring contribution to the Club in various roles over the years and also to Stephen Chisel Gill who will be continuing as part of the Rugby Operation Team. Life memberships were given to Raegan Jackson and Gordon Dryburgh for their long term and significant contribution to the Club... well deserved, Congratulations! John Davis (President) spoke to the future of the club and the way that will happen. The meeting attendees were made aware of the planning that has already occurred and the fact that the club is in a great position, ready to return to the Glory Days in the coming year(s). Jamie Lind (Coach) spoke to the season ahead and how the club will develop and fine tune playing style and attitude. Jamie also reaffirmed the plan to get training back to Townson Oval so that the facilities available can be best utilised. Gym, Green Room, running track for wet weather and customised scrummaging and line out areas. Inspiring stuff!! Summary is there are a number of willing volunteers committed and enthusiastic about making the Greens Great Again. There are good numbers turning up to pre Christmas training... let's keep the momentum going.
01.01.2022 Best of luck to Peta Salter and Sian Filipo today. The girls were part of the women’s Newcastle Wildfires team this year who took out the Jack Scott cup. They were then selected to play for NSW country and they get the chance to do that today. All the best from everyone at the greens! We are super proud of you both
