14.01.2022 Hi Guys, I’m going to open this up welcome to The Merewether Fats Blues Jam held on the first Thursday of EVERY month! This is a space for people to share an appreciation for blues music. I’m hoping you may share your own performances or post videos of some of your favourite blues tracks. ... Usually we are at The Stag, in Mayfield but sadly we have to go online this month and maybe for a few more. 12.01.2022 Talking point - Where is blues at today? Like, which current, modern blues artists are getting it right? Or does the blues live with it's origins?

05.01.2022 a little blues riff, on an old 1950s Australian Maton..

05.01.2022 This is an online meeting point for the Merewether Fats Blues Jam Community. The Merether Fats Blues Jam is unable to be held in a public space this month due to social distancing practices because of the COVID19 pandemic. We have been running for 18 years and missed one jam and I don't intend to miss another one.... On the first Thursday of the MONTH (Thurs April 2nd, 2020) I am inviting members to post and stream video performances of themselves playing Blues Songs, original covers... just so long as its blues. I want members to also use these page and the comments under the posted material to talk with each other, catch up, check in and most of all appreciate blues music together. Maybe you are unable to perform or capture your performance to share?!?!? If that is the case, why not post a YouTube clip of a live youtube performance. Hooker and Heat, Johnny Winter, anything for the Chess label and so on... I'm really looking forward to this online community meeting at 7:30pm this coming Thursday :D At least we don't have to count our drinks... About the Jam: FREE ENTRY The Merewether Fats' Blues Jam has been running on the first Thursday of each month for over 18 years. The night is a celebration of Blues, roots and folk musical styles. Founded by Mark ‘Merewether Fats’ Salter the blues jam has become a hub for the music community, young, young at heart, musicians of all levels and most importantly music fans. It’s strictly blues music and Fats had very stringent guidelines on what blues is. The main condition is that it came from the soul of the player. The night usually kicks off at 7:30pm with an introductory set from Fat’s house band to set the tone. From there it’s open to all for about 3 songs at a time.

04.01.2022 This is one that has so much soul and feel we try to do every month. Our intentions are there; but we never quite seem to be able to deliver https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtlVSedpIRU

01.01.2022 Gareth Lewis sent us this clip on his Bari sax last month. Try having a jam along with this one
