A very big thank you to Ausdance National for reviving the Australian Dance Awards and supporting our sector by celebrating great Australian dance! We are so humbled by this wonderful recognition and grateful for the constant support we receive from our wider community. 23.01.2022 As we say goodbye to a very unpredictable 2020, we look back and reflect on what good did come from such craziness this year. We are beyond thankful that we were able to put on a show this year, we are humbled and touched by the support that we continue to receive and I am blown away by the resilience, professionalism and passion that Merge dancers bring every year but particularly this year! From the very many zoom sessions and delayed start to the rehearsal process, to the final curtain call of our 4th show!! If Merge can achieve what it did this year given all the hiccups, I am super pumped to see what next year will bring! Happy New Year Merge families and friends and wishing you all a fantastic 2021!! 14.01.2022 And that’s a wrap for Merge 2020 - Behind the Brush! What a journey we have been on this year. We are so thankful that we were able to bring this piece to life on stage. We all took a moment before our first show to acknowledge just how fortunate we were to be back in a theatre. This small video of our seniors enjoying the final moment of the show where ‘live art’ was created on stage brought tears my eyes! We did it!!! A big thank you to Miss Monique and Miss Alana for their expertise and to Alex, Abi-Lee, Kate and all the wonderful backstage volunteers for your help & support (we couldn’t have done it without you!) And lastly, CONGRATULATIONS to all the Merge 2020 dancers on another wonderful year. I am so proud of you all! Bring on 2021!!!

01.01.2022 A sneak peek into exciting things to come!! Our 2020 production of ‘Behind the Brush’ is going to be one very ‘colourful’ show!

01.01.2022 Adapting to your surrounds.. Did you know that the whole second half of ‘Behind the Brush’ was performed on a large tarp?! In order to accomodate our elaborate ‘paint section’ our very patience backstage crew had to tape this flooring down during interval to avoid any paint spillage onto the stage. Our dancers practised dancing on this unusual surface and adapted to the different floor texture like champions!
