Qualifying didnt go to plan blowing the diff on our first qualifying lap timing in 20th Heat 1 - 7th Heat 2 - 1st Started p12 for the feature where we settled in nicely and worked our way up to p3. 17.01.2022 You just get the feeling that something big is brewing for Kris Coyle and the Merger Motorsport crew in the Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series. People who have ...followed the form of this team in the early part of the season believe if a bit of luck goes their way and they stay out of other people’s incidents, the W79 will claim a major placing very soon. Coyle is currently ninth in points after two rounds, but he could quite easily have been a lot higher. In round one he started from P2 in the feature race and held that spot down until the mid point when a car spun in front of him on the main straight and he had no chance of evading it, heavily damaging the chassis. At the last round it started off brilliantly for Coyle who set the Victory 1 Performance, Inc. Quick Time but was then caught up with another car in his heat race, dropping him out of an automatic start in the 40-lap A Main. He had to start from P5 in the B Main and moved up to third, setting up a P19 start for the main event. Coyle was methodical in the main event and powered his way up to fifth by the journey’s end in what was a great comeback effort - being the KINCROME Hard Charger for the round. 13.01.2022 Krikke Boys Shootout & the final round of the Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series at Bunbury Speedway last Saturday night Qualified - 11th Heat 1 - 4th... Heat 2 - DNF A main - DNF The night started good for us, improving on our qualifying from last week. Heat 1 we managed to hold our own in stiff competition. Heat 2 unfortunately came to end early with the rear axle snapping off and the car getting upside down. The car was pretty torn up but with the help of team Wormall, Harding, JPM and who ever else grabbed a spanner we made it out just in time for the feature! Thank you all for your help! Started last in the feature and made our way up to 14th before spinning and out of the race. 11.01.2022 SCARDIFIELDS SMASH REPAIRS KING OF WINGS Qualified 1st in our group and first overall. Earning us our first QUICK TIME for the season Heat 1 started P4 and couldn’t avoid a spinning car ended our heat race just 2 laps in. ... The crew got the car back together in time for the B main. Started P6 and finished 3rd with the top 8 transferring to the back of the A main. For the 40 lap feature we started out of P19. Got away to a steady start trying to stay out of trouble so far back. The pit stop was called at lap 6. By this stage we had worked our way up to p10. For the rest of the race we managed to pick a few more cars off and stay out of trouble. Finishing a solid 5th and earning the Kincrome Hard Charger award. 06.01.2022 Kris Coyle and the Merger Motorsport W79 team looked the goods in the first round of the series a couple of weeks ago - something they can take into this Saturd...ay night’s showdown at the Perth Motorplex for the Scardifield's Smash Repairs King of Wings. Coyle started the 30-lapper from P2, alongside eventual winner Callum Williamson and he held down that spot for the first 15 laps - until he came across a spinning Jaydee Dack on the main straight who was have major power steering issues. Coyle crashed into the W67, putting both out for the rest of show. Up until that point he was fast and had a best lap of 14.940 seconds, a time that was only bettered by Williamson’s 14.565 and Jason Kendrick’s 14.774. The front corner of the chassis was bent down, Coyle said of the damage a couple of days after the show. It is getting a new front clip. Other damage was both wings, a front axle, front radius rods, torsion bars and front shocks. While that chassis is being repaired, Coyle said they would be running a spare car this weekend.
