25.01.2022 3M have reached their Class Dojo Goal!! Congratulations 3M! As shared with parents via Dojo Messenger, 3M will be having a Mufti Day tomorrow. They will also be taking part in some fun games throughout the day.

23.01.2022 What an awesome day for a Stage 3 Athletics Carnival! It’s all fun, games and sport at MPS today!!!

22.01.2022 1/2K have reached their Dojo Goal! Congratulations 1/2K! As a result, tomorrow they will be having a picnic on the oval. Children are encouraged to bring a healthy packed lunch and a picnic rug or towel. Children will not be permitted to share food. 1/2K are able to wear mufti clothes tomorrow. They will also be having a movie day later in the week (no mufti on the movie day).

22.01.2022 Congratulations to all students in Years 3-6 who took part in today’s Cross Country Carnival. Here is a quick look at where the students ran today. Students of the same grade/two classes took part in the 3km or 4km race, and had their heats timed (to comply with COVID restrictions). Winners of each age group were awarded ribbons once all times were finalised and ranked (more photos to come)! Well done to all students for using the school-site track safely, with students not attending off site locations during the pandemic. Thank you to Mr Doherty and Miss Clough for making this happen and for designing and setting up the track!

21.01.2022 Sports Award Presentation! Years 3-6 Athletics and Cross Country Carnival Championship Medals will be presented at the Graduation Ceremonies being held over the next two weeks! Parents/carers of awardees have been contacted today regarding their attendance invites (unless they were attending already). We cannot wait to celebrate the success stories of 2020 with our school community!

20.01.2022 Tomorrow is the last day of Term 3. Have a safe and happy holiday! Students return to school on Monday, October 12 (the same day as staff).

19.01.2022 HELP FOR PARENTS OF TEENS Headspace and the Far South Coast Family Support Service are working in partnership to run Tuning in to Kids and Tuning in to Teens throughout 2020. Program details:... The program will run each Wednesday starting the 28th of October for six weeks. It will be held at Eden Headspace between 10am and 12:30pm. The program will be run by trained facilitators; Els Paijmans Family and Mental Health Clinician from Headspace and Jade Dryden, Child, Youth and Family Worker from the Far South Coast Family Support Service. It will help parents learn how to: be better at talking with your child be better at understanding your child help your child learn to manage their emotions help to prevent behaviour problems in your child teach your child to deal with conflict

18.01.2022 Merimbula Public School #NAIDOC2020 Here is a video our students made as part of NAIDOC Week 2020 in Week 5.

18.01.2022 Our bike racks will be moved in the school holidays to behind the Jackson Hall. We will also be installing scooter and skateboard racks in the same location! Students will be able to bring their own padlock and key (if they like), to lock their skateboard/scooter in whilst at school. Students were informed of the change yesterday if they were on the walking/riding line. Please remind your child to go to the new area on Day 1 Term 4, as well as, please remind them that this ar...ea is out of bounds once items are placed in storage for the day. Our storage location has been changed as our Year 3-6 equipment is being removed during this school holiday period, ready to prepare the ground for a new equipment area! We will let you know of what playground items the children vote on to be installed early next term! Thank you to Merimbula Sand and Gravel for your highly competitive equipment removal and earth works quote! We cannot wait to install our new play area!!! Here is a picture of the racks we are installing. There will be 4 scooter and 2 skateboard racks for students to use! Please remember that all riders require a fitted helmet.

16.01.2022 Term 4 Calendar! We are looking forward to an exciting Term 4! The Term 4 Calendar, and information regarding all Term 4 events, will be printed and sent home in the Term 4 Week 1 Newsletter, via the youngest child in each family. Our Newsletter will also be available on our website. Whilst we will not be holding our 2021 Kindergarten Orientation Picnic Day, or Parent Information Session in the hall, our three student visits to classrooms will be going ahead (unless NSW Heal...th advice changes). We will also be sharing a range of short orientation videos via social media throughout Term 4, to support parents/carers with assisting their child’s transition. Kindergarten students in 2021 will commence on Day 1 Term 1, with all Year 1-6 students (January 28, 2021). We will be holding Best Start Interviews at a later time than originally planned. More information will be mailed to families and posted on Facebook in the coming weeks. We will not be holding a ‘whole school’ Presentation Day. Instead, we will be hosting Graduation Events and presenting awards on a grade by grade basis on different days throughout Weeks 8 and 9 of Term 4. We endeavour to allow two parents/carers per child to attend graduations, should NSW Health advice and Department of Education COVID Safe plans allow. This will allow the required social distancing and a valued parent/carer presence. More information will be shared on our next Newsletter. As shared last term, we are still planning on having a Year 6 Farewell! We will share our exciting plans regarding the event next term, in the Newsletter. We hope that everyone stays safe and well so that we can continue to plan for, and look forward to, a wonderful Term 4 for Merimbula PS!
