20.01.2022 We've got a team at the Southport Masters Carnival today. It's a beautiful day if you want to come and cheer them on. Our Masters Boat Crew just paddled 10km for a win and Joe ran 2km for a win as well. Well done team!

14.01.2022 A great day was has by all at the Sportsman's Lunch. Around $87,000 was raised on the day, which is a wonderful result for our Club. Thanks to all who supported the day and Mark Lacy for organising a great day.
13.01.2022 The magnificently groomed Palm Meadows Golf Course was chosen to host the 2020 Mermaid Beach AEME SLSC Charity Golf Bash. The day turned out to be a huge success thanks mainly to our sponsors - Kennards Hire, Hickeys Lawyers, Mermaid Beach AEME SLSC Social Club, and Risk Advisory Partners - our magnificent volunteers - The generosity of the 12 teams that participated and the professionalism of the Palm Meadows staff and grounds crew. To add to the fun players were given five ...challenges throughout the round - two longest drive holes, two nearest the pin holes and an opportunity to collect $20,000 for a hole-in-one on the tricky par 3 Hole 17. Unfortunately the $20K was not won but everyone enjoyed the thrill of having a crack at the money. We’ll definitely have this on offer at our next golf day and perhaps a car as well on one of the other Par 3’s. All up we raised around $4000 with will go towards our current and future life savers. 10.01.2022 ***Exciting announcement*** We are super excited to announce our brand new nipper coach for 2020/21 and beyond - Daniel Norton-Smith. Daniel has an extremely impressive resume and will bring experience and absolute professionalism to our club. ... For the past 5 years he has been the head nipper coach at Currumbin SLSC and done an outstanding job there. He took Currumbin SLSC to their first Queensland Youth State Pointscore Championship in over 25 years (2018); and backed it up the following year by winning the point score again, as well as the Handicap Trophy (first club to go back-to-back and win the Handicap Trophy in the second year). Daniel will also fill an additional role of development coach for seniors. This is a really important part of our club surf sports strategy - helping our nippers make an easy and comfortable transition into the senior ranks. Families of any nippers interested in training and competing are encouraged to join us for a meet & greet with Dan on Sunday 19th of July at 7:30am in the park ahead of the start of winter nipper training at 8am. Let’s go Mermaid!
