25.01.2022 Don’t forget the great ABC Kids Listen app during these sometimes long days. The daily programs or story times can be a lovely way for kids and parents to just wind down a bit. They’ve recently updated the app. The first story in ‘Little Yarns’ is from Hunter in Yugambeh Country. Some meditation sounds in the ‘Sleep Through’ part as well.

This evening is a chance to meet other families away from the school run chaos and also an opportunity to hear from last year’s committee on its achievements. Of course, being a community kindergarten, these achievements aren’t possible without the help of all our families in big and small ways. Please consider what you can offer and how rewarding this experience can be for you, your children and the families yet to come to our wonderful kindergarten.

Some donation suggestions: Wine, gourmet food, anything Easter related such as Easter eggs, books, plush toys, activity packs or beauty products. If you have a family member or friend that works for a local business and you think they would like to donate goods/services/gift vouchers to help support our non-for-profit community kindergarten, please let us know. Any donation big or small will be appreciated! There is a basket at the entrance table where you may leave any donated goods.

13.01.2022 We celebrated NAIDOC week by acknowledging the Yugambeh people, the traditional owners of the land our kindergarten is built upon, as we do every day. We learnt the symbolism of the Aboriginal flag, we danced to the sound of the didgeridoo and we read stories of the Dreamtime.

We need a Grants Officer to search for and apply for much needed grants so that we can upgrade our playground, replace our fencing and purchase other equipment for the kindy. Most of the awesome things your children play on and in around our kindy are the result of volunteer parents that have come before you. Please consider giving up a little time for your kindergarten. This position could be done by one or several members shared. Please enquire with Michele, Jodie or Julie.
