WEATHER DETAILS: At 09/08/2020 18:26:00 the Bureau of Meteorology advised the immediate threat of severe weather has passed, but the situation will continue to be monitored and further warnings will be issued if necessary. At 09/08/2020 08:07:00 the Bureau of Meteorology advised a rain band and cold front is moving over western parts of the State this morning, reaching central parts this afternoon and into southeastern parts on Sunday evening. Ahead of the rain band, very windy conditions are expected with possible damaging wind gusts. 20.01.2022 It’s been yet another busy day assisting the communities impacted by ex-Tropical Cyclone Seroja, all the way from Kalbarri to Southern Cross. The extent of the ...damage is heartbreaking, and our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected. As always, the response for these difficult incidents comes from far and wide across our State and even across our border. - Over the past 24 hours over 160 additional resources arrived in the region from across the State to assist local teams and those who had been pre-deployed into the area. - This includes an additional 45 personnel and volunteers who arrived from New South Wales and Victoria today. - The ADF are also assisting with the reopening of roads and clearing of damaged structures. VOLUNTEERING - If you would like to offer accommodation or register your interest for potential volunteering opportunities, visit www.volunteeringwa.org.au DONATIONS - People wishing to donate to support those impacted will be able to do so through the Lord Mayor’s Distress Relief Fund. https://bit.ly/3s8Jui9 - Please hold on to any physical donations at this time as emergency services do not have capacity to process goods. We appreciate your ongoing support and patience while we do what can. Thank you to everyone giving their time for their fellow Western Australians we are stronger when we work together.

14.01.2022 TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS CONFIRMED (Announcement by Premier McGowan, 27 March 2020) From midnight Tuesday, restrictions will be placed on travel within the entire S...tate of Western Australia. Western Australians will not be permitted to leave their regional boundary. It’s absolutely vital every Western Australian understands you cannot travel within WA. It must stop immediately. Police have the power to enforce these restrictions if necessary, and fines of up to $50,000 can be issued. To be clear, those are: the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Mid-West, Goldfields-Esperance, Wheatbelt, Great Southern and South West. Due to their proximity and interconnected nature, Perth and Peel will be treated as one region. The health and safety of people in regional Western Australia must be our priority. Exemptions will apply for, among other things, essential services and workers, including health and emergency services; people living in ‘border communities’, who may not have access to groceries or supplies within their region; employment purposes; medical reasons; transport of essential goods and some compassionate grounds. Additional restrictions to remote Aboriginal communities were announced by Aboriginal Affairs Minister Ben Wyatt this week, to provide extra protection to these vulnerable communities. If you are currently away from home - you need to come back. Now. If you were planning a trip - you cannot go. But I have one important request - don't cancel your bookings with our regional hotels, tours or other providers - postpone them instead. This won't last forever, so let's do what we can to make sure those businesses are still there once it is over. #covid19 #pleasestayhome
