Climb through the throat of Hippo's Yawn and be sure to catch the interesting shot on camera. 07.01.2022 The "Wheatbelt Way" is named after the region which is named for the wheat that is grown, which was the main agricultural product in the early history of Wester...n Australia's development - today many other crops are also produced. Sometimes it is a little confusing as such a large area of inland Western Australia is known as "the Wheatbelt" (42 Shire’s in total make up the Wheatbelt region)! The Wheatbelt Way Drive Trail covers the Shire of Wyalkatchem, Shire of Koorda, Shire of Dowerin, Shire of Mt Marshall, Shire of Mukinbudin, Shire of Nungarin, Shire of Trayning and Shire of Westonia. The Wheatbelt is arid with low levels of underground water, making agriculture largely reliant on the rainfall. Right now the landscape is turning from green to gold with all the wheat crops ripening and will soon be ready to harvest. We can't wait to share with you pictures of the upcoming harvest! #mywheatbelt
