24.01.2022 Interlocking Triangles: I worked over 1,2,3,4,3,2,1,2 etc canvas threads. In the 1st square I worked the 1st and alternate rows in deep pink. In the 2nd square I worked the with only two threads: solid light lime green and the variegated thread. In the 3rd square I worked the colours so that diamond shapes appeared. Have fun.

15.01.2022 Preparing and shipping kits for USA EGA classes has been my focus for the past weeks. While sponging canvas for one of my Online classes I used up some of the left over paint to sponge the canvas for a new summer project. Nearly 8 weeks to stitch and create, I have 4 new projects started or in the planning stages. The fin...gers are 'itching' to get started and I have to drag myself into the office to do the list of jobs that need finalizing. One of my new pieces is a commission to design a Tassie/Aussie themed Backgammon Board, I quickly did the 1st draft so that I could sponge it with the wonderful soft lime green paint I had mixed. I will share progression photos of my projects as the summer weeks progress. See more

01.01.2022 Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! is how the song goes. Snow on the ground in the main cities is very unusual for us. This week snow fell in parts of Tasmania that had not had snow for over 40 years. My 'Not Santa's Series' was inspired by all the different white threads that many designs in the USA use for their Christmas/winter projects. These four patterns are available as a download pdf on https://merrilynheazlewood.com.au/pr/downloadable-patterns/ These sma...ll projects are ideal for you to use some of your stash of threads, and please stitch them in what ever colour you like. I stitched all of them on white 18 count canvas, then put blue fabric behind them. See more
