24.01.2022 Our AGM was held yesterday. It was disappointing not to see many attend when we have eager junior magpies wanting to play in 2021. They need a committee! The following positions were filled. President - VACANT... Snr Vice Pres - Bernie Constable Jnr Vice Pres - Matt Mead Secretary - VACANT Registrar - VACANT Treasurer - VACANT Canteen coordinator - Jane Constable Publicity officer - VACANT An EGM has been set for Thursday 5th November, Merriwa RSL @ 6.30pm Please consider taking on a role to get our Junior Magpies on the paddock in 2021. These positions NEED to be filled at the EGM or the club will sit out in 2021. If you have any questions about any of the roles please get in contact, there is plenty of help on offer!

23.01.2022 URGENT Registrations are DUE this Sunday 21 June by 12pm. After last nights Group 21 JRL meeting we have until Sunday to advise if we will take part in the 2020 season. ... If your child wants to play please register them ASAP!! There are no ifs or buts, we will make a decision based on REGISTERED players. We respect everyone’s decision at this time with respect to their families, volunteers & players health & safety. This season will be like no other and restrictions/guidelines will put extra pressure on our small hard working committee but if our Junior Magpies want to play we will do our best to get them on the field! 17.01.2022 Unfortunately no one attended our EGM held 5th November. This leaves the club in uncertain times. ... We need to fill the vacant President & Secretary roles ASAP. The club can simply not run without these positions being filled. Other vacant positions include Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Registrar, Publicity officer, assistant canteen coordinator. The club is ready for the 2021 season. Please consider taking on a role within the club, we can’t express how disappointing it was to sit out this season for our junior magpies and we certainly don’t want that to happen next year. 14.01.2022 All 15 & 16yr old girls interested in playing U16’s league tag this year (including those who will be 14yrs by May or June) are invited to the MERRIWA RSL BBQ area for a sausage sizzle to chat with coach Phil about the upcoming season! 12.01.2022 A message from our Singleton friends with a few field changes for tomorrow. Please take note of field layout. As Im sure you know its been a wet week with many fields closed. Our international field will be out of action tomorrow so we've had to make some adjustments to our playing areas.... Please find attached a revised field layout for tomorrow's games for you to distribute to your teams so they know where they are going. Please note the minis are slightly smaller but should still do the job. We also ask for your assistance in not warming up on the international field and doing your best to keep kids of it as much as possible. Don't forget to sign in at our covid tables and we look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

02.01.2022 Footy is set to Return COVID-19 Safety Officer We are looking for someone to take on this role within the club. This person will be responsible for the creation and implementation of the Clubs COVID-19 Return to Train and Play plan. (NSWRL has provided many resources) We cannot go ahead unless this position is filled.... We are set to make a comeback to training from the 1st July and competition from the 18th July, playing straight through to October (no break, 10 weeks). The club has many rules/restrictions we have to comply with before we can return. In order to see if it is viable for our club we need you to register your child! Our return to the competition will depend on numbers. If you want your child to return to play please register before 29th June. We will require help from parents to help implement guidelines set down by NSWRL & Government. The success of our home rounds depends, solely, on the dedication of our volunteers & could not happen without you!! HOME ROUND SATURDAY This coming Saturday, 29th May, will see us host our first league home round! It is an exciting, yet daunting time for our committee; dotting i's & crossing t's, to ensure that the day run...s smoothly. Most of our small committee will fulfill essential field duties on the day. Which means I will rely, heavily, on parent helpers in order for the canteen to operate successfully. Please contact me directly, if you are able to lend a hand, so I can add you to the roster ...Just an hour of your time would be a huge help! Whether it be the role of Ground manager, FAO, League safe, coach, team manager, setting up/packing away or helping me out in the canteen, our small club could not function without volunteers!! 01.01.2022 There is an upcoming Level 1 Sports Trainer course being held at Muswellbrook on 19th & 20th June. Our Club depends on trainers being available at Home games and for this reason we ask that anyone who may be interested or know of someone to please consider taking on the training and helping our small club. The Level 1 Sports Trainer course covers how to manage emergency situations and apply first aid in a Rugby League environment as well as injury management, crisis manageme...nt, concussion management, sports taping and transporting an injured athlete. Participants are required to complete 5 online learning modules, these include: - The Role of the First Responder - Concussion Management in Rugby League - Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology - Introduction to Nutrition and Hydration - Activity for Injury Prevention Please follow the link for more information - the cost of this training will be reimbursed from the Club.
