25.01.2022 Merrygoround cards are reusable. Artwork featured on this one is 'Nessa' by the very talented Nadia Turner :)

25.01.2022 This is our lovely office-neighbor Bike'n'Blend (pedal powered smoothies). Cute video! Inspired by Leena, I cycled to work today (had to get off and walk the bike up the hill though).

24.01.2022 The Life Instyle Trade Show opens tomorrow so we are putting the finishing touches on our display today. We should have samples of our 2 new cards with us too. (For those of you going - we are booth F10).

23.01.2022 Some of the pics highlighting the recent range.. Ornithologist John Gould visited Australia between 1838-40 and went on to produce the seven volume book Birds of Australia and the three volume work Mammals of Australia. The beautiful observation and artwork of of Goulds wife Elizabeth, and artist H. C. Riechter seemed a perfect way to celebrate nature and our connection to it.

22.01.2022 Happy to announce that this beautiful beastie by Australian Illustrator Ken Taylor ( @kentaylorart ) will soon be appearing on a Merrygoround reusable card.

22.01.2022 Australian Graphic Design Award Finalist - happy to have made it through as a finalist in the AGDA category "Design for Good".. :) https://awards.agda.com.au/finalist/3/10009/695

21.01.2022 Press check this morning for a new card featuring artwork by Emma Wiesenekker 'Nocturnal Marsupials' :)

20.01.2022 This one's a special favourite from the latest series... it's the only one which credits Elizabeth Gould (John Gould's wife). Elizabeth made hundreds of drawings and studies in and around their time in Australia 1838-40. She died soon after their return to England (and the birth of their 8th child!). Subsequently, most of her studies were translated into Lithographs by other artists and Elizabeth missed out on any of the official credit - so it's nice to see an image like this one, credited to her.

17.01.2022 New card designs. Thanks to illustrators Ken Taylor and Emma Wiesenekker

17.01.2022 These two just got sent to the printer today! Erics Garden and Tender Morsels, both images by Shaun Tan. Picking new images for the cards is always tricky (and a joy).. Will they work? and for what occasion?... What event would have you sending a card like 'Eric's Garden' (the tea cup)? or 'Tender Morsels' (the bear)?

15.01.2022 Life InStyle Melb 2014 We really enjoyed our time at the Melbourne trade show. Hearing the stories of how far people had travelled to get there (Queensland, WA, Newcastle, Tassie and New Zealand :) And we also got to meet some other great 'First InStyle' stall owners - hi to Toby, Sarah, Almira, Sophia, Emily (and Jenny) and Paula.

14.01.2022 Cute Mum and Joey featured on our latest John Gould range. (Already starting to think about Mothers Day - Sunday May 8)

11.01.2022 First InStyle - July 31 - Melbourne We've got a little stall at the upcoming Life InStyle Trade Show! It's slightly terrifying! - but luckily, because it's our first show, we don't have to put together a complete stall - instead, we'll be at the top of the stairs (on booth F10) manning a little "First InStyle" table. (Pic, courtesy of the Life InStyle website, shows you the kind of stylish presentation we'll be mixing it with)... We're currently busy getting our ducks in a row, with a long list of preparations including: new point-of-sale displays and fresh card designs :)

11.01.2022 "Gifts pass from hand to hand: they endure through such transmission, as every time a gift is given it is enlivened and regenerated through the new spiritual life it engenders both in the giver and in the receiver." Margaret Atwood (introduction to 'the gift' by Lewis Hyde) image: Deer Tree by Rebecca McBurney

10.01.2022 Nice to see this one getting printed. Featuring the stand-out artwork of Australian illustrator Ken Taylor.

09.01.2022 Press-Check. Headed down to our printer in Brighton this morning. We always do a press-check when there's a new Merrygoround card coming out. This one was looking really good - just asked the guys to tune up the yellow to warm it up a little. Artwork for these two - both by Shaun Tan. "Tender Morsels" and "Eric's Garden".

08.01.2022 We're starting to think about the next couple of cards... It's always really exciting. There's pocket of time at the start of any undertaking, where anything could happen... like before you open your presents on Christmas morning... there could be anything in there!! We've got a couple of illustrators on our wish list. We'll get in touch with them over the next week and see how we go.

05.01.2022 With Max & Me just sent us a great pic of the cards and display stand in their lovely shop in Leura. Robyn gave us some nice feedback and said "Initial reaction to the cards is very positive I can see that they are going to work well here in our shop. I have taken a photo of them sitting on our counter and have attached for you to see it is a great sized stand for a counter"... Thanks again Robyn.

03.01.2022 Christmas every day of the year? We're often asked if we have a range of Christmas cards and the answer is always ... yes we have a Partridge in a Pear Tree and Two Turtle Doves... but we also keep our fingers crossed that our (reusable) cards will work on the other 364 days of the year too.

02.01.2022 Happy Mothers Day! I drew this image for my mum a few years ago (for Mothers Day!) ... her name means "Lotus" in Vietnamese.. and she was thrilled to receive it as a card :) Here's a little bit of the process from original pencils to final colour work.
