25.01.2022 The Don Cricket Club is celebrating its 150th year and is one of the oldest clubs in Tasmania. 24.01.2022 Below is relevant info for player finals qualifications and top 7 due 23rd Jan to statistician with scoresheets or by email It was clarified that 6 games is the requirement 38 ELIGIBILITY OF PLAYERS -in Roster games and Finals :... a) Clubs will be required to forward a top 7 players For A grade and A reserve by the 3rd Saturday in January, who will be ineligible to drop back to a lower grade after that date and up until finals commence. b) Clubs with 2 sides in the one grade must also submit 7 players who will not be eligible to be selected in another side.(not relevant this year ) c)Players registered in the last 3 weeks of the season (who will not qualify for finals) ,must play in the lowest grade for the club (Subject to MVCA approval) d) Players must play an amount of games (as determined at each annual AGM) with the Club to be eligible to play in any finals. In any season ,the following games played are required to qualify for finals: The rule of (1/3 of roster games +1) applies. Where 2 games of 20/20 are played on the same day,and a player participates in both ,this shall only count as 1 game towards the amount of games required for qualification towards finals participation e) Clubs that field more than one side, the player must play an amount of games as determined at each annual AGM in one Grade to be eligible to play in said Grade. The exception to this is clubs who have 2 teams in one grade. A player must play the amount of games determined in a given team, as opposed to the grade, to be eligible for finals. f) Players may be promoted to a higher Grade but not demoted to a lower Grade. The only exception being if a club has 2 teams playing in a final in consecutive grades on the same day then 1 player may be eligible to be demoted to the lower grade.

18.01.2022 Hi everyone Due to the conaravirous the Grand Finals have been called off for this season. The executive knows this is not fair on the team's playing at the weekend. We received an email from Cricket Tas confirming that Cricket N.W has called it's season off as well and that we should fall into line with Cricket Australia and Cricket Tas and Cricket N.W.... We believe that to call the games off now is in the best interest of our playing members and the general viewing public. We will be awarding the premiership to the team's that won there 2nd semi final. So congratulations to Sassafras in A Grade, Nook in A-Res and Beulah in B Grade. Again we are disappointed that this is how the season has ended but we are living in strange and unprecedented times. Thank You everyone and I do understand your disappointment. The Executive of the MVCA.

17.01.2022 History buffs. We are endeavouring to find definite details of the commencement of the MVCA as an association to update the history on our Face book page and also My Cricket. So can people dive into scrapbooks,files,grandparents memories etc to provide feedback,Evidence to back up would also be great,as we are considering putting an Established date on our clothing,so we need to ensure it is correct. While we are at it,Association colours and logo/emblem/name,has navy blue...,yellow always been the colours ?Were the Association ever known as a Nick Name ie The budgies/hawks,bulls etc?Did we ever have a logo? 10.01.2022 Hi All, This post will be in 2 parts. Part 1 will be about the timing of the start of the season, rostering in the 1st couple of rounds and the T20. Part 2 will be all about MyCricket requirements for the clubs. Part 1... A) Start of the season will be the 17th of October in line with Cricket North West. This will give us a 17 round roster. B) A Grade will kick off with the T20 rounds with a double header in the 1st week and only 1 T20 match rostered for the 24th of October to start at 11:00am. C) A Reserve and B Grade will have their normal 45 and 40 over matches on the 17th with no scheduled matches on the 24th of October due to the AFL Grand Final. D) The T20 rounds will be run the same as last year, so playing for 2 points and the team with the most wins will represent the MVCA in the Statewide competition. Part 2 below

08.01.2022 Part 2 Before we start on the changes there will be 2 training sessions for MyCricket on Thursday the 24th of September and Thursday the 8th of October at 7pm both night at the Hurricanes North West offices in William Street Devonport. Please BYO Ipad or similar tablet... These training sessions are COMPULSORY for all clubs with a minimum of 2 players per side to attend. Ok so the changes this year to the way clubs will engage with MyCricket are as follows. A) Clubs are responsible for all registrations and Clearances solely to be done via MyCricket. B)Home sides can opt in to do live scoring with the away team to do scoring in the book. C) Both sides must enter selected sides into MyCricket prior to the game commencing to enable live scoring or entering results at the completion of the match. D) If not live scoring both clubs, each side enters their own scoresheets and once agreed upon, they are then confirmed by both sides and then approved by the association statistician. E) Scoresheets are to be entered by no later than 8pm Tuesday after the completion of the respective round. Then all scoresheets are to be delivered to the statistician no later than Wednesday 8pm at an address to be notified at the next MVCA meeting.
