14.01.2022 "D & I Horsemanship Explanation & Exhibition TACKLESS RIDING Merton Park presents two incredibly talented young ladies - India Phelps and Danicka Ryan. DATE:... Sunday 2nd February, 2020 Time: 12.00 noon 4.00pm Cost: $70.00 per person (Includes Tea/Coffee & Afternoon tea) BYO Deck Chair. Riding your horse is one thing, excelling in a discipline of your choice is another, but communicating with your horse on a level of absolute trust is above and beyond the norm. Riding in a bosal, riding in a halter, riding bare back is something we may see or do as a norm YET riding with a stock whip as your only aid, bridleless and saddleless, asking them to lie down and to stand there whilst you crack your stock whip is not. The girls will show you that this can be achieved not only on your home soil but ‘out and about’ and ‘across’ obstacles it is all about trust and is not something we see every day. IT CAN BE ACHIEVED. Working with your horse at this level can be done by you at home Learn how India and Danicka, two friends, have achieved this in such a short period of time. Danicka has only been riding seriously for 12 months. Yes that is right, 12 months while India has been riding since a child. This amazing demonstration, explanation and discussion opportunity is open to you to come and meet and see for yourself that you can do this. To ride without fear, to grow with your horse Danicka and India hope to inspire others, sharing their techniques is their ultimate goal. Helping others develop relationships that can so easily be done at home - Just you and your horse working together No pressure. So many horsemen and woman who are tentative and love their horses to death, whether they compete or not or those that choose to not even go out of their own fence lines can do this. It is not impossible You can achieve the ‘ultimate Relationship’ just you, your horse working together freely. You do NOT need your horse for this Clinic. The girls will be here to discuss how they have worked with their horses to achieve their goals, explaining their communication and how their horses have responded, give you demonstrations both in the arena and on our Equine Mountain Trail Obstacle course. BSB 06 3791 ACC 11401252 About India Phelps India was born and raised in the NSW Riverina and like most of us has been riding since a young child. She has had her fair share of horses and admits didn’t understand how to communicate with them or they didn’t understand how she was trying to communicate with them. Pat Parelli, Monty Roberts and Clint Anderson are just some of the trainers she admires however she listens to everything anyone says and uses it in way which best suits her. India says that she has had many mentors throughout her riding life and still relays anything she needs confirmation on back to them. India currently has a 6 year old stockhorse mare named Oz and a 3 year old quarter horse gelding named Blue, two completely different minded horses yet both are and continue to respect and respond to her training methods. Danicka Ryan Danicka is from Wagga Wagga NSW and her partner is a 5yo stockhorse named Clancy. She describes herself as born into this world with an insatiable love of all animals great and small though ultimately, she has an enormous admiration for horses and their majestic aura. Her experience with horses is far from as long as the majority of her peers and friends as she only bought her first horse 2 years ago. She has spent this time trying to learn everything she can sorting good advice from ‘not’ so good advice (and I quote let me tell you there is a lot of conflicting information out there) Amazingly, Danicka and Clancy have only been together for 12 months. Danicka says It has been so hard, yet so rewarding. The relationship I have with my boy is amazing. In just 2 years Danicka has transformed as a rider and as a person, while in the past 12 months both her and India have worked together and developed methods, relationships and learnt how to communicate and build trust with not only their own horses but others. She admits that she is inspired by every person she speaks to one way or another, there is always ‘issues’ or ‘answers’ that get her mind ticking. Ultimately such trainers as Warwick Schiller, Bill Dorrance and the many Stockman’s Challenge riders she has met have had a considerable influence in her training methods, goals and future dreams. Conclusion I will say I nearly fell over watching these two young women come back from their floats after doing our course in-hand as I had, as I normally do, said OK if you feel confident and want to ride the course now you can go and get ready! Well you could have blown me over with a feather I didn’t know whether or not to call my insurance company or just watch. Well I just watched! Don’t miss out on this opportunity to see the ‘freedom’, the communication, the trust and the relationship these girls have with their horses.
